Bushcrafter SAK from Swiss Bianco

Think maybe that was Scibeer? ....... I liked the Stalker he made that was a Farmer with scissors and hard anodized scales.

I would be a cool hobby ...... not super expensive to get into.

^ yup that was the name- agreed it would be a nice little business for someone

hello,

thanks for the kind words.

the point is that this sak has the factory warranty, its not an wild modded sak that is no longer swiss factory made.

the basic idea was brought to me by an japanese knife entusiast and he did order an good number for his country, some of them did help friends of his in the last big catastrophic event we all remembered. he, kaz, came up with the idea of leav one layer of the farmer sak and cause the main blade for general cutting and carving is still there, the awl can be used for "drill" holes in an fireboard and other and also is used for spark the magnesum rods, not as one of you mentioned the back of the blade, as its blade is rounded, as any other tool in an sak, by an stonewashing process so the non locking blade backside cany be used for that purpose, of course the edge could. but the awl fit that purpose joust fine. then there is the wood and plastic saw, for cut to size wood, making the angle cut by the fire by friction board and others, all together in an way durable 93mm alox frame with different hardanodised colors, i dont now of any better bushcraft and wilderness survival sak.

regarding the price, we have to see that this is an very limited made product. its an exclusive and we do sell it at suggested mrsp, not more or less. if you think its easy to create or get sutch products done your plain wrong, thats why so few are around. same plain wrong is that some dealer blow out some sak at cost or below that and that people get the impression that my regular price sak are overpriced, witch they are not.

on some sak is additional extra work, splash multi color anodising, pocketclips, firesteel and so on and again, this extra work in small runs count on the price too. but you get an sak that quite likley nobody around you has nor they have 1000s of it at the stores around you. as with everything its up to you to descide if its worth it or not, i mainly do them for myself, otherwise the extra work involved would not be done.

I understand people have a love for SAK, but isn't a leatherman type multi tool a much more viable option? It seems they are much more versatile and some even come with locking blades. And yes, I do realize that you cannot put a leatherman on your keychain.
As the other poster stated, where do you purchase these and how much do they cost? Who knows, maybe I'll be converted.
They're lighter, smaller, and more ergonomic if you want to use the knife for anything prolonged. Leatherman's (which I own also) are big fat bricks in the hand.
Sorry, but to me, it just looks like a regular SAK. I don't see any enhanced "bushcraft" functions. The blade doesn't appear to lock, so I'm not even sure you can run a firesteel along the spine without the danger of folding the blade.

Can someone let me know what makes this a bushcrafter, besides the thinness?

btw, I own 2 Swiss Bianco's knives, so don't think I'm bashing him.
You run the fire steel along the back of the saw. Works quite well. If you have any doubt look at Picts youtube vid of him carving a net needle. He used the farmer but since he didn't use the drivers...same deal.

yes the backside of the saw can be used for start an fire too, the disadvantage is that it may fold back in as you press on the magnesium firestarter. the cutting edge on the awl is that way in position that this tool dont fold in while use it as an firestarter...

the blade steel is standart victorinox on these, in usa you would say 440A ish but with an perfected heattreating process. for use as an firesteel we have an different sak, the firesteel farmer, videos are on my youtube.

for prices and avaliability please contact me by send an email or use the contact form on my website, thanks!

I've used the tip of the spine on the saw on the Farmer when it's in the closed position. Not my ideal, but it works. I prefer striking a steel that way rather than using the awl. I seem to stike the steel easier and generate better sparks.

thats great that it works for ya all.

Roger, I just presented an option that addresses the 'saw folding on you while striking' issue; an option which incidentally works better in my hands. It was not my intent to put down using the awl or other methods. Different strokes for different folks  Hell, I prefer to use the striker that came with my firesteels (newer flat edged styles from LMF) or the goinggear ones, before improvising another striker.

no no, im happy that it works for you that way. im swiss and english is not my motherlanguise.

as more ways we have to get good save use out of the bushcrafters the better. we will here test that out and may show on an video.

thanks for explain.

:foot::o

Sorry! I thought I might have offended you somehow, it is good to know I didn't. Thanks for putting these out, I look forward to picking one up in the future, and other models you put out

Not sure what you're referring to. Silver Farmers are plentiful and cheap. The Bushcrafter was never a standard model (as far as I know.)

In any case— I care about the color of the Bushcrafter. That's exactly the right color for the knife (and I'm someone who has always believed that all SAKs are supposed to be red.)

I will probably own one some day.
