After reading post after post of Hollowdweller singing the praises of the scandi grind, I finally broke down and set a small jig to hold my blade at the classic 12.5 degree angle. The bottom knife is the result. I was amazed at how it cut. This is water quenched 1095, and I tempered at 425 to get the RC down to 60-61. Hopefully this will not make the edge too "chippy". The top knife has a slight convex grind with a secondary bevel.
Designing a bushcraft is a little hard, because to me the lines are almost too simple. Trying to strike a balance between keeping the simple lines of the original styled bushcraft knives, and making the knife "my own", was a challange.
This style of knife has been a work in progress for a long time for me. Hope you enjoy the photo...
