Business Attire Knife

For me whether is business or weddings or funerals I have a William Henry on me. I have several of them ranging from there older models like the CF-T10 or the newer ones like the Rio or the Titan. They have a very slim profile even with the larger knives. They for the most part are very light and can be very fancy. My Rio has been a conversation piece many times. I have used a Mnandi or a small sebbie as well....for me it just depends on the type of clothes your wearing. If I am wearing a suite I like to keep everything very light and lo-profile. Khaki's I tend to go with heavier knives.

Don't overlook the BM/HK 14210. Similar ergos to a mini grip only with full SS liners, open construction and smooth G10 scales. The handle design also allows me too get a full 4 finger grip, where I could only manage a 3 finger with my Mini Grips. A very classy and well thought out knife...IMO of course.

I carry an all black Kershaw Chive as my Business attire EDC. Small and classy. Almost like jewelry. Very Sheple friendly. the girls have even called it Cute.

We have a no 'knife' policy at work. No one complains when my black Chive comes out to open a package or snip something off. Looks like a billfold clip in your pocket, and is just right for office work. The Mnandi looks awesome, but I don't have $300+ lying around for a dress up accessory.
How often will you need a 3" blade while wearing a suit?

I carry Mnandi's often. Most people who see the clip think it's a pen! For really deep carry I have to go no clip. In these cases a Spyderco Kiwi is my knife of choice. They don't have a clip and that is a problem since I tend to loose anything that is not clipped to me. (especially when pulling out other items). I attach a lanyard (it has a lanyard hole) and this helps. It is also fairly in-expensive (especially if you can find an all stainless one). I get compliments on it's unique and what I think elegant design on the few occasions I had to cut open a package or slice a piece of paper at a meeting. A wharny blade is a plus for this type of use as well.

Probably it would be easier for us to advise, if you determine your price range.
Mnandi looks great, as well as WH, they are but out of my reach. I do not have any.
I have both Caly3 G10 and CF. Great knife. I carry G10 every day since I got it in September 2006. But for dress up events I prefer Kopa, also great knife, eye candy and the beauty queen of the knife world. Ten different inlays made so far.
These pictures from spyderco Forum, made by WhyNot will give you some ideas.
You can find quite a few great pictures over there

The BM 530 is outstanding, and one of my favorite knives. It's super slim, has an axis lock and it's sharpest knife out the box I've ever handled. This knife is inexpensive and awesome. If you order one of the other knives suggested grab the 530 too, you won't regret it.

Never had to go to a wedding where you didnt like the inlaws did ya;)

I have it alot of times for lunch or other things around the office. But I dont wear an suite at my office much. For me its not a matter of how often I just like to have one.

The AL-MAR Falcon? light, slim and a black pocket clip, perfect.
If that is a bit too big ,how about a Fallkniven U1 (a slippie-sheeple friendly)
My favourite is the Fallkniven T3.

The Spyderco Kopas are great for gents knives, but they don't have G-10. I like the Caly 3 and the 14210 from what you've mentioned. I don't like jumping to conclusions, but based on what the op mentioned, I think the Mnandi might be out of his price range. If not, then Mnandis and William Henrys, but again they don't have G-10.

Check out the Nemesis Knives' Imp, by Jeff Hall.

They offer a silver G10 handled version + a variety of wood handled knives as well.

Great quality gentleman's knife, with a 2 1/8" VG10 blade.

Here are some pic's, alongside a few other options, the Spyderco SS Cricket and Benchmade Benchmite Auto

I vote Caly III , either CF or G10 , use as a money clip . Al Mar has some strong contenders , as do Benchmade an Kershaw . If ya want spendy , cant beat CRK Mnandi , or William Henrys stuff - but very spendy . Muscata makes some dressy stuff , at a good pricepoint .

I'm going to be picking up a new knife soon and I can't decide between the Kershaw Nakamura and the Spyderco Volpe

Holy crap, how could I forget the Volpe, not only do I have one and it's stunning looking, it's the reason this particular idiot can't use his left thumb right now (stupid while sharpening:rolleyes:)
N690Co steel, same as Extrema Ratio and Ontario knives made by Fox in Italy, takes and holds an unbelievable edge well. The blonde olivewood and the laser-cut Spyderco logo give it a very classy touch.

Haha, well it appears we have similar taste in knives. Do you know of any other knives of similar style & price range to the Volpe and Nakamura that I should consider?

I wear a suit, or slacks and sport coat 95 percvent of the time.

I carry a BM 710 D-2 . I removed the clip and just carry it as a "pocket knife." Never had a problem with anyone noticing it unless I take it out to cut something.

Even then, most folks won't get upset by a clean shaven, short haired man in a suit carrying a knife.
