I just received my latest batch of Busses from the last Ganzaa. Four Jackhammers, 2 HR's and a Nuke EDC. All "inspected" by the same number inpector. I have over a hundred Busses now and they vary in sharpness from the factory. I have battle mistress' that are like razors and all the way down to AD's that are crazy sharp! BUT.......Ive gotten a few that are not so sharp from the factory and Im wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if they have noticed if its maybe from the same inspector??? Or??????? Just wondering as I love all my Busses and they are all sharp enough to get most jobs done!

And does anyone have a Sarsquatch to trade for a Jackhammer or HR??

I'd suggest editing this before the Mods get you for soliciting. Post it in the trade forum. I don't think you'll have trouble trading off a Jack Hammer ;)

Mountain---Guys have posted here about that sort of thing. Knives out of the box should be very sharp, IMO. What's up?

yea! if one of those JC's are dull give them to me! i want a dull knife! need to feed my Fallkniven DC4 with some steel!

pfffftt!!

You'll find nearly every manufacturer has knives that ship from the factory less than hair popping sharp every now and then.

If you want them as users its no worries just sharpen it, if its for a collection don't sharpen it you won't cut anything anyway

I have never been disappointed with the performance of a Busse knife right out of the box. If I had been Jerry Busse would have been the first to hear about it. If I did not get satisfaction from that then I might air my grievance on a public forum. If you have a hundred Busse knives you should know that. Take it up with 'The Man' and I can't imagine that you would have anything but satisfaction to share with us.

It has been my experience that Busse knives vary in sharpness from sharp enough to cut a hanging hair, or even cut a hair into a fuss stick(ok this is the sharp end)

All the way down to being a blunt object safe for kids to play with while sitting.

Most fall somewhere inbetween leaning toward the sharp side.

The last six or so that I got, new from the Busse table at shows were just a little short of hair dragging sharp and far from hair popping sharp.

In the days that I was a dealer, while most were shaving sharp there were some that were not.

When I sent back ten new knives to the Factory as not sharp enough to suit me as a dealer, Jerry sharpened them right up and sent them back to me with a Factory loaded leather strop and said if I have a problem with others to just use the strop till sharp enough to suit me.

I got to say that I like/love that little strop.

I received a Jack Hammer and EDC that could of been sharper. But I received a Cultellus that was razor sharp.

I'd hate to say it but I've had a few that could use a little TLC right out of the wrapper.:(

Even the ones that leave the factory with that not-so-fresh feeling sharpen up so nicely that it doesn't seem to be a 'problem.' The money is for the knife that holds the edge; just give it an edge worth holding and all will be well.

Over 50% of mine have came very sharp.

The rest not as sharp...but I have never got one that was really dull.

Edges take a lot of hand finishing to get perfect so most companies tend to skimp on them rather than upping the price by having a lot of shop time spent on them. The Comp and custom shop blades would probably all have good edges but the regular line might not have the same attention to detail. I don't mind though ,I usually reprofile my blades anyway and INFI is so nice to work with. I do like the comp knives though because they come with convex edges. I wish my SAR5 was a comp version.

I never understand why people demand a hair poppin edge out of the box. Its a new phenomenon. Blades used to ship with no edge at all. The customer was required to put their personal edge on it. Users do that anyway. Any old edge that comes to me is going to get the same treatment. And IMO, Busse puts some really obtuse edges anyway.

To each his own. JMHO.

The edges might be 'obtuse' but little Amy-0 sure is 'acute!' ;)
