Jerry, Hogs and Piglets... what do you think about a collector club?

Here's how I would propose that it work. You must agree when you join that you will purchase one of each Limited Edition Busse Knife. You would be assigned a Member Number and that would be the number on the knife that you recieved. Numbers would be assigned via somthing like a lottery program to avoid everyone saying "I want such and such number". You wouldn't have to place a order for the LE models unless you wanted more than one, and you "MUST" accept the purchase of your assigned numbered knife.

All non Members of the Collector Club would not be excluded from the LE knives, but they would recieve knives that are either not numbered or that are numbered after all the Members had recieved their assigned number.

I would also think that Members would get a first shot on any OverRun Production blades.

What do you think?

Kinda takes the fun out of it all if you are guaranteed a blade. The hunt is half the fun! You don't get to be Hogs by waiting for INFI to come to you ....you must go to the INFI!!!!

Sounds like cheating, but I'd love to have an LE gauranteed from eack of the new releases.

It would take the fun out of the hunt.

We discussed the possibilty of a collector's club in depth a while back and nothing came of it to my knowledge. The problem I see is that Jerry and the crew have their hands full as it is and adding something to the mix might complicate matters. Just my concern though.

That is a good point. I do remember this coming up a while back. My biggest thing is not everyone could afford to do it. but I guess thats part of being in a club.

For those are unsure they can afford all the LE models, It could work somthing like you could call the shop and ask not to recieve your blade and it would be added in with all non member blades. This should be a rare option and if used to often you would loose your assigned number.

I think this should be a very rare option, you shouldn't join a collector club unless your serious about a long term purchasing agreement.

What if it were that you only had to commit to buying 1 LE per year or a custom shop model. I think that would be better. But to join you already have to have an LE:D

There was also discussion of a users club as well, I will try to find the thread from way back if I can. There were two tiers so all could belong to some degree. If anyone finds it before I do, thanks for the effort.

Or they just keep doing what they do best...first come first served!!! By adding a collector club you would be propagating the theory that you have to be part of the "Club" to get anything other than standard issue items...no need to feed the flame of the haters....

Exactly... if you don't feel that your able to afford it then you wouldn't join the club and you could order the LE's through the website like is done currently.

You wouldn't have to be a member to recieve any of the LE Models, but Members of the club would have assigned numbers that they would automatically recieve.

This type of Collector Club has been in use through Spyderco for a long time. The way they did it at first was all numbers 1-100 were club members and if there were only 50 members then they did not number blades 51-100. All the knives were still available to the public but the Club Members recieved their's before non members.

Question: What is wrong with the current system?

Answer: Nothing.

I am against the "Rich guys only" club. :thumbdn:

Equal chances for all Busse lovers...not just the ones who can afford every new LE put out there.
