Busse Collector Club...

You are correct, I wasn't aware of the Busse process, I was going off your post about Spyderco who would produce 100 and the 50 cool kids would the first 50 and whatever was left over had to be squabled over by everyone else trying to get one. Thanks for the correction, I haven't been a Busse fan long enough to know the inner workings.......but I still don't like the idea that no one else has a chance for a #1. If you want a certain Number bad enough Elbow and fight your way to get it!:D

If a person was interested in making this work you would start to number the Club members knives from say 15 up. They can compete with the rest of the world for numbers 1 -14.

Jay, no way man......I am not aggitated. Please don't misconstrue my point of view as anger or aggitation. I am just a voice. I just think everyone should have the same chance for any number. I don't want to see a Flame War here, and many Hogs have been VERY helpful to me and I certainly wouldn't want to take anything from them. but I just think if you want a # on a knife get a custom and have them put it on there for you. This is all in good fun Jay, PLease don't misunderstand my intentions.

I like the idea of not having to scrounge to find a matching number for your other numbered knives. For example, I once had a 25, 35, 125, and a 152. Not really much of a grouping. On the other hand, I also like Tony's idea above. I guess I'll vote with the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" crowd.

That being said, it is Jerry's decision.

I could see a lot of work for Jerry keeping track of our "special" numbers.

Maybe if we gave Jerry a bottle of 30 year old Genfiddich with our name and number on the personalised gift label, he could remember it more easily.

Let everyone take their chances. If you want a thing you'll probably get it. You don't need that kind of club. the blades speak for themselves.

I would like to offer this idea. What if we had a Busse Combat Collectors Club and it had nothing to do with the standard or LE models that come out.
The BCCC Knife would be a variant only available to the members - with their assigned number! This could be offered once or twice a year. It could be as simple as a handle change or serrations on the LE, you get the idea. It would make the Club available to more people because it would not be offered as often. Just a thought! Ron.....

RON i like that alot. I would 100 percent support that. I know there is still an "elitest club" feel to it for some people. But I think that, this would be much more affordable. Would there be rules like "if you get a club knife you cannot sell it", any ideas on rules? Anyway besides that I like this idea. I am a go for it.

Oh dont let me forget, I want a BOONIE hahaha. Could we get boonies and shirts with our #'s on them? That would be Giggidy Giggidy alllll right.

It was. The idea of a club is cool and I would support it, if anything came of it. Unfortunatley it takes alot to organize and would probably take a while to form i f anything was put into action. Its a cool idea if done right and effectivley.

Also I would like to add I would be more in favor of a club that was affordable, and not specifically intended to exclude but more like something that. If you were in it, you'd get a few things someone in it might not get the exact same thing of, however those not in it could get one. Kind of like what raden said with the #'s. Thats why clubs are so hard to do because they exclude some people.

Tried my hand at this thread a ways back... Crashed and burned. Numbers are a bad idea IMO. Plus, it can't compete with O.I.N.K.

I'd be game for something, but it would depend on the incentives, buy in's, etc... :)

I like this. A simple variation to set a blade apart from the normal cycled design. I'm in. How about varying offerings, one large and one small per year to make it affordable to all. And I agree that nothing should compete with O.I.N.K.
