Busse Combat Is Set To Party Harder Than Ever At BLADE Show 2018!!!

WHAT??????? Firstly, I couldn't disagree more with the "Cool", "Sounds Great", "Very Nice", "Awesome" comments I've read so far on this thread. Instead, I'm calling shenanigans, (I could use more colorful language but I think you get the point)!

No offense intended, but it's hard for me to believe that after planning the past 30 years at the Blade Show, Jerry has just realized that there aren't going to be enough blades to offer at Blade Show so there won't be a booth.

If this were the case, this information should have been shared before the shop credit was offered in December. I'm now sitting on $20k in shop credits and no BUSSE blade booth to spend it on. Had I known that there would be no Busse booth at Blade 2018, I certainly wouldn't have purchased such a large shop credit this time around.

As was mentioned in a previous post, it seems that the Blade Show organizers keep screwing with Jerry and the location of the Busse booth at the show. Tensions have escalated and the organizers are not catering to one of their biggest draws...BUSSE knives. Come on Boss Man, level with us...we can handle it.

Sorry for pissing all over this Kumbaya moment, but this just SUCKS!!!

Wow. I'm pretty shocked about this. I'm very happy that it will a vacation trip for the staff, but the Busse table has been the main highlight of Blade Show for me for the last few years. It was a big let down last year that the pit went away since there was no room to throw cards into the the crowd, but that's nothing compared to this. I'm sure the party at J&J's will be great as it always is, but this is a sad day for me.

To Be honest, I've kind of been expecting this since they stopped going to KC.

I plan on taking a day trip down, hopefully to be inducted.

Any idea who all will be going, boss man?

I can't take your credit but illI be happy to buy your gladius if that helps.

Well! Honestly I dunno what to say...a Blade without Busse representling...
Looks like I picked the wrong year to return to Knife Mecca :D

It is the same reason we stopped going to Knob Creek. Sales were always epic but getting enough knives together in time was getting to be impossible.

We will have the regular crew there, including the Busse SWAT Team, along with office and shop personnel.:cool:
This "Party Only" plan seems to be enticing some members of the Crab Shack to come along as well! It will be like a living history museum tour!:cool: LOL

Wish I could come!!!

A party with out all of the crushing adult responsibilities sounds fantastic!!!!

Wow, this is interesting, understandable on the inventory/table ratio business side and yet surprising in a variety of ways as a customer.
My wife and I had a blast our one and only time attending Blade in 2012.
I was planning to go this year, but I might need some more info to see how this develops.
As in, how many and which days, where, will Busse be partying?
Any other venues coming up as an alternative that we could make plans for? You know, like a Busse run VEGAS Trough Show maybe? Even just once like the old days?

Last time I was in Atlanta I got lost and fell asleep on a shipping crate that was all wrapped in carpet, duct tape and water and my hand got stuck to a sticky rat trap. When I stood up a nark taskforce thought I was a perp that they were looking for and drew ar's on me until I was able to convince em I was waxed on beer and tequila, and that I wasn't the doper they were looking for. Then if this wasn't enough my rented auto got towed. Even after all of this the only thing I was bummed about was that we could no longer a pre-order or preadopt upcoming models. I love Atlanta!

I have heard some stuff from a few vendors over the past couple years. A couple years ago they made Hinderer take his table outside to sell the knives. They also stopped vendors from having celebs on the show floor year before last. As stated they have been screwing with Busse over location and how offerings are done for a while now.
IMO Blade officials might should hold there head up and look around before their event shrinks enough to be moved back to Knoxville.

Party sounds epic. Wish I could get to ATL and toss a few back with the Busse crew!

Someone should measure the ripple effect this has on other vendors. I've never gotten the opportunity to attend, but I always see you guys cross-posting other blades that you "discovered" or rescued during your time at Blade. Small vendors won't have the gravity of Busse to feed off of this year...

I was just thinking about just that. I have heard that small vendors had been complaining for several years that the big draws were stealing their thunder. If you remove the 3 or 4 main events for the show for a couple years I really wonder if the show could make it in that venue.
I don't think that smaller guys understand how many sales they get from people that are mainly attending the show just for the few main events.
If Busse does not go next year I don't know if I will go. I could hold my cash and spend that weekend online shopping from home and get much better deals. Of coarse I will go just to get out in the community.

I don’t think there will be any ripple effect quite honestly. Busse is definitely a popular booth there, but there are a lot of big draws at the show and Blade Show has been busting at the seams for years with the show staff trying to figure out a way for more and more tables at the event. Busse will be sorely missed by me and many, but there are a ton of great custom makers there. For example, if you ask the first several hundred people in there line what they are there for it will mostly be Lucky 13, Burnley, Swan, and a great many other custom makers.

We are having a Ganzaaa prior to the BLADE Show that will ONLY be for those coming to Atlanta.

There are nowhere near enough knives for an entire Blade Show, but definitely enough to make for a killer cool Ganzaaa.:cool:

The only way to score in this Ganzaaa will be to pick the knives up in Atlanta. (No proxy buying or pick-up will be allowed. . . This will be strictly enforced!)

This will give the Atlanta bound HOGs a chance to score some awesome BLADE Show exclusive deals.:)
