I'm more of a practical weapons buyer I would grab my tomahawks before I would grab a longsword

on my Butaniku video thread sparked the idea for this thread.

Forget collecting/wants. If you were thown into a SHTF situation that you know nothing about (could be major natural disaster, martial law, Z/A...anything) what Busse (or Kin) COMBAT Knife (or sword, or tomahawk) would you take, for COMBAT and why?

In this scenario you have NO guns. Limited to a single blade only, for COMBAT use only. I know, the horror!

For me, it's the Rucki.

Why?

-Not too heavy (about 1 kg) or big/bulky. Can run freely with it on a shoulder sling.
-Can operate single handed with just enough handle length for two if I need
-Provides a decent range
-Extremely pointy. Stabbing is more deadly than slashes unless you completely remove dat dome piece

So, please share what blade you would chose for the given scenario and why. Feel free to post pics, i'll add my own shortly!

Would be hard to decide between the swamp rat waki and the busse gladius. Probably would go with the waki (slightly bigger than the rucki from what ive seen) because of its extended reach but the gladius would be more fit for going through buildings scavenging.

Kz2.
Recurve blades cut like demons.
Weight to OAL ratio is awesome.
Thickness to OAL is awesome.
Can still stab pretty ok.
Could totally remove "dome pieces".
I own one.
Kuhkri blades are awesome.
Kuhkri blades are battle proven on the biggest of stages. WW1-2

Cuz:

The KZ2 is great!!! But the butt end of the handle is a nightmare when choking back and taking big chopping swings

I don't know why folks hate on the KZII handle. The more I choke back the less that seems to bug me. Huh. Different strokes.

I suppose it could be just ground off to be more fusion-y

Tell it:
"If you don't like my hands where I'm putting em, put em where you want em."

Eventually you'll get what you want out of her.

Wait... What?

Fun question. After looking at my current and upcoming deliveries I will go with my AK47. In a combat situation the speed and reach would be most beneficial. I had considered the incoming Hog nose but the weight swinging in one hand would be slower. I also considered the Huck as the Kukri style blade is unquestionably one of the great fighting knives in history. But the reach advantage overcomes the shorter knives.

Good input guys, hopefully more people leave their choices too!

This is exactly why the HUCK is my number 2 choice. Another reason is that I would prefer a shallow slash that is easily removable/wouldn't get stuck like the thumping CHOP that a Kukri would likely produce. Kukri's are still a fine choice!

If it were to be used purely as a weapon I'd go with a Ak-47, still light enough to carry and wield with speed and short enough for close quarters while giving a slight reach advantage over the rucki.

Seems to be a strong preference for the AK47 over the Rucki.

I chose the Rucki because imo:

-it is better designed for one handed use which is important if you need to carry something, open a door, punch a zombie in the face, whatever
-it is a little more pointy
-the slightly shorter blade length and handle suits me as I'm not huge (5'6") and I find a smaller blade obviously more controllable
-it has a better guard (larger and on a slightly better angle)

honestly though the difference is negligible, personal preference mainly.

Hmmm..... Combat..... No firearms.... Gotta be Busse & kin......
My AK47, satin. Don't have a Butaniku.... If I did, I'd get the shorter version. Both the Butaniku & AK are gonna be faster handling. Shorter reach, but faster.

..... Now..... If only Busse could make a longer, and thinner, Gladius type sword or European sword..... Can't be too heavy. A sword that made for thrust, rather than slashing .... The point usually dominates the edge.

From what I have, I would choose the 1111. It's got a beast of a blade and has a good grip as well.
