OK guys, this is a work in progress... PLEASE feel free to post the original factory cost for any knives you see listed and I'll update this original post as often as I can. Also, feel free to let me know of any models I should add, or any discrepancies you guys find. Here we go...

PLEASE READ THEN SEE SECOND POST FOR A LIST OF ORIGINAL FACTORY PRICES FOR BUSSE MODELS.

These prices are based on COMBAT GRADE, LIMITED EDITION & SPECIAL EDITION knives as released by Busse Combat. These prices should not serve as a reference for BUSSE CUSTOM SHOP knives. Show special discounts and Hog only discounts are also not reflected below, unless noted.

It should be noted that prices will vary dependent on the handle material and finish - as an example, a Combat Grade BOSS Jack with G-10 handles (as opposed to the stock canvas micarta offered) will be more expensive than the price listed below - G-10 is roughly a $25-35 upgrade, depending on model. Standard handle thickness vs. magnum handle thickness should also be taken into consideration and will be noted below. In addition to handle material, Combat Grade prices can also vary depending on blade finish. A satin or double-cut blade finish may add $60 to $100, depending on model. A camo paint job may add around $30, depending on model. Serrations will also be an additional cost. Further, Busse often offers special discounts at knife shows or Hog discounts, unless noted, the prices below do not take these discounts into consideration. For example, the HOG MUK was a one time offering at $337 - however, there was special Hog only discount that reduced the price to $287.

Lastly, please keep in mind that if you are using this as a guide for buying or selling, that year of release and availability/rarity is often factored into the price, as capitalism dictates. With that said, the prices below are only to serve as a starting point, not as gospel, and the proper research and due diligence needs to be taken in order to determine an accurate, and fair, price for sale or purchase. REMEMBER: SHOW PRICING IS NOT THE SAME AS INTERNET SALE PRICING; TYPICALLY SHOW PRICES ARE LESS AND ARE NOT ALWAYS CONSISTENT SHOW-TO-SHOW OR EVEN DAY-TO-DAY DURING A SHOW.
 
I think you need to differentiate between show special prices and regular retail prices ? Some that travel to the Blade show may get a little better price and I do not think it would be accurate to post that as the retail price.

Also, just a friendly piece of advice to those who feel original prices may have an affect on what happens to a model's value once it's out of production. They really don't. Value is a matter of several factors including original price, time since the model was produced, number produced while in production, general acceptance/popularity of a model, etc. I paid $467 for CG NMFBM's almost three years ago, and would not sell one now for less than $100 more than that, because I'd expect to pay $100 more if I wanted to buy one today. At the same time, there are models I've sold for less than I paid, due to more supply in the market than demand at the time. Prices are based on what a willing buyer will pay and what a willing seller will take, and often you can't assume both parties to a sale are well-informed.

Asserting that a price on an out-of-production Busse is too high just because it's more than the original sale price is not a very compelling negotiating point, IMO. Try waiting for a straight-handled Battle Mistress to come on the market for its original price of $347. At the same time, prices for the SHBM in 2007-early 2008 were significantly higher than they are now, after the general downturn in the economy.

Wouldn't it be easier to just send the info to both sites bussecollector and hogcults and have them update their webpage. You know they do have an email address so you can send them info so they can update that sort of stuff.

Well we don't have to go exactly by these prices as far as value and purchase price but at least they can give a base where we can see and examine areas of consistency in the different retail prices that are offered by the different dealers and gold members. It is not the only area in which a dealer or seller can be graded on but its a pretty strong area. I think we all agree dealers should make some money but at the same time, no one likes to be bent over. If this needs further explanation, I will leave it to.....someone like.......LVC. ....3 pages minimum:D
