Busse - False Reputation?

I have a Busse knife, an HG55, and it was worth every dime (as was my Koster and Sebenza!). Furthermore, Amy and the staff at Busse were able to help me out a little bit more after the purchase - the customer service lived up to its reputation, absolutely.

Like gcgcgc said, Amy-0, Garth, Kendra and staff, and of course Bossman are second to none when it comes to customer service and satisfaction. When you call Busse Combat you always hear a friendly voice. IMO this just stands behind the reputation of the knives that Busse creates.

I have beat the crap out of my FBM and others. $600 for a knife that I beat the crap out of and without a second thought about it knowing that Busee will handle it. Some other knives that I own I would not think about doing the same things that I have done to a Busse.

Since there many less expensive brands that perform quite well, there must be some reason we all buy Busses. The INFI, the warranty, the style, the performance are all factors. Busses are in a class by themselves.

Don't forget the people. As much as I like Spyderco, Sal doesn't have an Amy-O working for him. No one at the Spyderco booth came up and hugged me when I arrived at the show, either...

Amy is truly an irreplaceable asset to the Busse empire. I have only spoken to her on the phone but I look forward to meeting her at one of these shows. As well as Garth and hopefully the boss man himself one day. Then Bravado can't give me any crap.:D:thumbup:

speaking for myself, i enjoy all quality knives in general, production knives, custom knives, in folders, fixed blades, etc. busse does have a wonderful magnetic field that draws you to them, that magnet being, quality, genuine good people that work there and the true caring of all concerned at the busse company. i have not met one single person affiliated with busse that i did not enjoy the company of. it did not matter if the person was a busse employee or owner of one of their blades.

that being said i do not think that most of us do not have a passion for a good quality knife, matters not whom makes it!

if i had a busse knife for any one of the many knives that i possess i would be another jaxx, jimmy jones, bravado, little foo, oh yea don't forget skunk and others that would be to many to list here...that is said with much respect and admiration for each of those mentioned!!

i am just glad that i was introduced to the busse knife, they are a wonderful piece of steel!!! and that includes the bussekins as well.

Oh, I haven't forgotten that part, MM. The whole Busse Group is the greatest!:D

The resaons why we all buy Busse:
because we want only the very best and anything less just will not do, why we factory in cost but quality. That's how we hogs do.

I guess the thing that really impresses me the most about INFI (and the "other" steel, SR 101), is how easily they sharpen. I have lots of knives in other steels, and the ones that have similar characteristics don't sharpen up nearly as quick and easy. That's one of the things I really like about this steel.

+1

I thought INFI was going to be a royal b*tch to sharpen like other "supersteels", but it sharpens on a par with 5160 -- a little more difficult than 1095.
