Busse folder patents

Nice find!!!! I heard it will be ready in two weeks. :D

How did it take this long for us to get a patent attorney hooked on Busse?

Now we need a spy who can infiltrate the Busse shop so we can get the scoop on when the folder will be ready.

Looks like an X-18 handle, which I'm not crazy about.
I was hopping for a Straight Handle like on the Sebenza or Strider.

I don't really think they will be a folder...at least not any time soon.

But if he does make it I sure hope it has a straighter handle.

Looks great...just needs a slight modification made for framelock!!!:thumbup: ;)

I got the pics to work, they are the ones we saw the last time. Only one of the drawings looks familiar though. The talon hole is in the slabs and not the blade. I wish Jerry would get one of these made on a production level. Of course he knows if he does we might very well never have to buy another knife. :D

Huh! Huh! Huh! He said 'rectilinear!'

I'm sure that every new knife draws from previous designs so I'm not surprised to see a little bit of Blackie Collins work in there.

I would pass if the design was released.

Currently I own no folders b/c they all broke.

When I decide to buy another in the future I'm am going with the X18..
I really can't see how Busse can top that model, infi or not...

Sweet find, Busse folder unveiled, handle looks to fat, I dont like the dual thumb studs, I am sticking with my Severtech  , and I think Busse should stick with fixed blades. :)

Stupid patent office. CAn't get the pix to completely load. Most are only the first 1/4" of the page, if anything at all. :(

I had a couple of X18s, didn't like them much, mainly because they didn't flip and they were flipper models! If you want a hard use semi-larger folder, get a ZT300, the assist feature works well, they are easy to take apart and clean, plus you can find them barely used for under $200. The Gen 1 & 2 X18s are going for $1000!! Thats nuts!

:D

both of those links state a filing date of 2003, and an issue date of 2006, making the initial patent 5 years ago and the the available use for open market dat 2 years ago.

the 2 week production date still stands :p

I was just in Miami last week and had the pleasure of meeting I'mgatman and friends..
There were several XM18 s on the table to fondle. Flipper worked flawless for me. I have to say they are by far most comfortable and very solid.. I like how you can choke up on the blade because of the larger choil. I am sold on Hinderer and can see my self getting addicted to that brand just like Busse..
I handled a ZT: found it unsightly and too bulky. Felt solid but it really is not for me... Also I like the fact Rick makes everything down to the the last screw... God I need my first XM18 but these damn Busse purchases are delaying things..
