Busse - For Sale Forum..

I think it benefits Busse Combat to keep it as it is. It is a pain to some, but if I were in Jerry's shoes, I'd want it left alone as it exposes his product to potentially more people. I know we want the INFI all to ourselves, but I think it's better for everyone if more people are exposed to it. It creates a larger Busse family as well as provides a larger pool of potential buyers if we need to sell one, as most of us have at one time or another...

What if Busse sales were left as is but, there was a seperate one for INFI trading? I always forget to check the Trading forum until someone posts some INFI for trade and I happen to see it on the front page.

Edit: Maybe also have INFI WTB added into a separate INFI trading forum???

If I was to sell a Buck knife, I wouldn't try selling it in the little Buck sales forum. There just isn't as much traffic, tons of people just skip it altogether and instead look at the general sales forum. The only people who look at that forum are people looking specifically for Buck knives.

If most buyers are like myself, we browse the sale section looking for interesting knives and good deals. We are not looking for any particular item- if that was the case, we would post a WTB thread.

Just out of curiousity, now that there is a Buck sub-forum, are the folks who are trying to sell a Buck knife prohibited from posting it in the general for sale forum???

I don't think so, that would be unfair to anyone wanting to sell their Bucks.

I'm with Rat, even though he's plotting to kill me.

When selling, I'd prefer a wider audience. When buying, I don't mind sorting through other knives. I've picked up some good deals on other knives while looking for Busse offerings.

So in effect, if I want to buy a Buck knife, now I don't know where to look--the main forum or the sub-forum. Also, just because I, as a seller of a Buck knife, want it to be seen by the largest possible audience, won't I just post duplicative sales threads, especially since I can??? Seems like a waste.

This is what needs to happen in the For Sale Forum:

If you are selling multiple Busse knives you must group them in one thread. NO SINGLE THREADS! This is already rule that some seem to ignore. Without mentioning anyone I can name at least 3 violators of this rule off the top of my head. This goes for all multiple knife sale not just Busse knives. If you post a single knife for sale and then decide to sell another you should add it to your single knife sale thread and make sure you update the title to reflect the change.

My 2 cents.

Off the top of my head, this makes sense. Mods should also crack down on violations of the "no more than 1 bump/day rule. Of course, there are a lot of folks out there who try to walk a fine line with this one by "answering a question from a seller" or "acknowleding payment received".

{Waving hand} Here!

I do this from time to time - I will endeavor to consolidate listings.... sorry!

As an aside, I have tried to edit titles, and find that it will take my change, but not edit the title listed, but make a sub-title.

This rule should be enforced and enforced for all. I just checked the first page of "for sale" listings and I only see one poster with 2 threads and they were not Busses. I think I know the one's you speak of so no need to name names or post links, but it should be a rule enforced across the board. However, I do not recall seeing this rule and I just went and read all the stickies at the top of the for sale page, can you point me to it so I can refresh my memory on it.

:D:D

Had the same problem with a sale thread I had before. Tried changing the title to no avail. Just added a sub-tite to it

I don't think you have a problem that is big enough to spend time talking about a solution. My 2 cents.

Your 2 cents are duly noted, however, when a number of people complain about their posts getting bumped down due to Busse sale threads constantly being posted and BTTT'd, there is, indeed, a problem. Of course, the Busse fans will disagee with this.

Eric,

Contact CODE3 or Glockman. They are the mods of that forum and while not all rules are written it was addressed in the past. I should say this is more of a courtesy to other sellers rather than a hard and fast rule. We all share this forum and making it better for everyone is what we strive for.

I have had problems editing the title also.....so how is it done properly?

I'm pretty sure that only Platinum members have that privilege. Sorry about the confusion. You could PM the Exchange mods and ask them change it for you.

Or, if you take knife brands completely out of the equation(since it should be irrelevant), what we really have is a few people complaining that their threads are getting bumped out of the way by threads started by other paying members who have the same right to sell their knives. Those complainers don't deserve preferential treatment, nor do their threads.

I wholeheartedly agree that multiple knives should be posted in only one thread, and consider that to be common courtesy.

There are rules about BTTT'ing threads that should be enforced if that is a problem. I think the recent thing- posted I think by Glockman, about not chatting a bunch in sale threads was meant to address this issue.
