Busse Game Warden

We have recently banned drinking at both the handle stations and sharpening stations. . . This seems to have cleared up most of these problems. . .

Please return the blade to us and we will make it right. . . Sorry for the inconvenience and we will do our best to make it up to you. . . There is no excuse for shoddy workmanship on any Busse Knife . . . PERIOD.

Thanks,

Jerry

I know I should expect this stuff from Jerry by now, but his customer service simply continues to amaze me. What other maker does things like this?

I have two questions about Busse knives.
- Why is there so little information on their website? I mean, if you want a Battle Mistress I guess there's plenty of info.... but not for the Game Wardens.
- I'm reading this thread where most are revealing that the Busse knives usually come with less-than-perfect cosmetics. So, what is it about these knives that demand such a high price?

I've looked in the For Sale section of the Forum and all of the Busse knives sell fast and sell high (it seems). Plus, it seems like people collect them in high numbers. You know "I pulled out my array of Game Wardens to check for those same problems...." or "I checked ALL of my Busses and only two have this problem". Those are not exact quotes and I'm certainly not making fun, it just made me notice that people want these knives, and more than just one!

I admire the Game Warden and would love to have one, but I sure would like some of you to tell me what things make them so unique and so much better than other knives. Already I can see that customer satisfaction is one of their strong points (by Busse's offer to Hlee).

If you guys knew me and I said "I'm thinking about getting another hunting knife".... what reasons would you use to convince me to buy a Busse as opposed to a Benchmade, Dozier, Snody, Randall, or some other nice fixed blade?

Thanks

Game wardens are an exclusive the the busse company store found at www.bussecompanystore.com and are usually sold out within 5 minutes of being posted for sale there.

The warranty, strength, edge retention, and on and on :D

We all have things that we enjoy and Busse fan's (myself included) seem to have an INFI addiction that for some reason, causes us to want more and more.

It's mainly the steel, with exception to customer service, that infi users enjoy most.

This has been asked before and in that circumstance, a knife was sent to the person by a fellow forumite. The proof to him was getting to use one and now he has many, many more. :D

Thanks

Hopefully that helps a little bit. I'm tired, so the above may be off and others will be along shortly to clean up and correct my responses :)

Damn Jerry, Banned drinking? Right now I am half crocked and think your drinking ban is cruel and unusual punishment. Give your crew a break! :D Amy and Kendra are irreplaceable. I would think they would be derelicts if they were sober! :D Uh oh, too much Jim Beam Black.

Honest to God, I love them gals!
Love them knives too.

what things make them so unique and so much better than other knives.

A year ago I start asking questions about "the best" fixed blade, Busse is a name that came up several times and I just want to try one. Then I stop buying anything else but Busse, only Busse.

To answer ur question in short: You have to hold it!

Having a lot of knives from Big Names, its joy to hold but it often did not scratch the itch perfectly. So you keep buying until....."INFInity" First time I hold a Busse, it just feel perfect. It seems, feels, designs just exactly what I want from a knife. Not to forget meantion, I do feel a lot "macho" when i hold it. weird~

Now I am hooked, addicted, loyaled to Busse. I keep buying Busse not because I have not yet found the one, the reason I keep buying is because every one is the one. Blade just happen to have too many styles for their purpose.

Busse always BRING IT. If you are curious, my words won't scratch your itch right. There are a few easy access Warden at exchange at price today (not fair price 3 weeks ago) If small blade suits your stomach. If you like big blade, you are at the right time to get a FBM!

You just gotta try it! Then you will understand, we are not crazy. Well, perhaps we are, but we are not crazy for Busse for no reason. Unlike William Henry, Busse is made to be used and targeting at ppl who will USE them, not COLLECT them. IMHO cosmetic flaws are not flaws. Busse is value at their quality & performance. Busse has fair price. Busse has no control on 2nd market price. So if price isn't fair, then DON'T buy it!!! Ppl can't blame Busse for everything including being what they are.

Busee advertise you break them, we replace them with no qustion ask policy, but if you are so picky about cosmetic on the blade, we still take care of them.

That is all BUSSE stands. Are you in good hands?

God bless JJKB.

Nice GW, it is a sweet little blade that you will come to love.

This is why i buy Busse and swamp rats. :)

fwiw, i have had several dozier's, customs and 'productions'. his grinds tend to be uneven as well. they are all done 'free' hand on a grinder i believe, and hand sharpening is not an exact science.

the true productions i have had, benchmade, emerson, wh, etc. all had visually perfect grinds, symetrical that is. but i believe there is less human contact with these blades on the production line.

most of my busses and rats have 'imperfect' grinds, i dont look at this as poor quality control, only the human factor.

StretchNM, my advice would be to buy a game warden from the exchange forum like I did. As you have noticed, they are in high demand, and sell for a premium price. If you buy one and decide that it is not for you, you can sell it right back on the exchange, and you are only out whatever upgrand cost it takes to sell one the exchange. I think it is $20. And maybe not that depending upn demand. I would be willing to bet that once you got one you wouldn't want to let it go. I couldn't bring myself to send it back to Busse, given the invitation. I just like knowing that it is "home."

Please don't mistake my initial post. This knife came SHARP. And, the "cosmetic flaws" pictured are truely minor and were only noticed upon close inspection. I think that the pictures may actually make them look worse than they are. I don't know anyone, personally, that would pick up on them. They would probably be called "beauty marks" if this game warden were a woman.

I posted earlier that I would give my impressions of the GW's performance as soon as I had a sheath for it. Well, being as it was bought as a hunting knife, and there is no hunting to be done until turkey season, my performance impressions will have to wait until May. I invite anyone who has used their game wardens to post their perfomance impressions in this thread. And, if you have a GW distruction video, all the better. But, don't expect me to watch it. :)

If you have good turkey hunting ground in either New York or Connecticut, I invite YOU to post in this thread as well. ;)

The prices on Game Wardens are actually coming down in recent weeks. If you watch for awhile and don't get wrapped up in the colors of the slabs, you can work a pretty good deal. You won't regret it, but if you do you can easily get your money back out of it.

Sunkissed Warden at the price of $250 is a great deal!

I think most of G10 Warden price comes down. The classic till up in the air.
A good chance to grab a G10 warden as user!

It's hard to understand the madness that Busse fans have until you try one. They're simply amazing! The first thing that really got me hooked was when I was using one of mine to chop up some old scrap wood out in the yard when I hit a nail (and nearly cut it in half) with no damage to the edge other than a little flattening that came out with a couple swipes on my ceramics. This was with a ST-56 with about a 6'' or 7'' blade. The BIG Busses are out of this world when it comes to chopping!

I'm been a knife enthusiast for years and have and HAVE had a number of different blades. Apon discovering Busse, I pretty much sold or traded most of my other knives (with the exception of my favorites) to get Busses. I've only been an enthusiast since October, but Busse Combat has me for life! Excellent knives!
