Busse Khukuri

see the way the blade recurves into line with the handle. That's what we need to aim for with the choil. Lines will be better and it will open up some blade length !!

When I saw Jerry's drawings I thought of my WWII. Hope you guys can use it to refine the design. IMO the WWII is a great all around design and I'd love to see what Busse could do with it.

Used to have a WWII model with slab handles and a tapered tang. Wonder how that would work for Busse or would a skeletonized handle be easier to do? Still want to see fullers and or a tapered spine. ;)

the fullers work on hande forged khuks as they are hammered into the steel. Busse would than likely machine or grind them out. Deafeating the object !!

My objective for the fuller would be to lighten the blade a bit and change the balence point. People want thick but light and a fuller would do that. But After thinking about it a while I realized that the type of fuller I'm talking about would probably be expencive and hard to do on this blade so it would be impractical. Oh well.

One thing the Busse Khukuri needs is a Convex edge!

Oh WOW!

I have hoped for a long time now, and still hope, that Jerry will make a Khukri and some of you want to ruin it by putting fullers/corrugated bevels on it. :thumbdn:

Darn tootin'!!
It's distinctive, looks good, and falls in line with the CG type knives (matching HellRazor, CGFBM and kukri -- OH YEAH. (BTW with corrugated bevels and 20-22" long, I wouldn't mind .25-.375 spine thickness as it'd be a fighter, not a woods tool, IMO).

For a more general design, two fuller looks nice, like on the Dui Chirra style (22" OAL).

Great try at giving an idea of the Competition Finish Coupchoux! Polish the edge satin as that's how it would come and I reckon you have cracked it!

Things are looking good for us on the Khukri front. I have heard from Garth and wanted to check what can be said and will post again in due course. If they are looking at these posts and depending on what they have in mind....I do love your lines in the pic above....for me a double cut none glare finish would be perfect. You can restore it and still have a tactical none glare benefit and you know when it is clean.

I'm all for number 3 as well - it is as close to perfect as you can get without an actual knife !!

Poor coup is working his ass off !!!

No disrespect meant to anyone, but as for my personal taste.....

ME NO LIKEY !!

However, You all enjoy!!!

we need a poll for this one to make it easier for Garth and Jerry. I propose we post a poll with the pictures of the overall design and label them with numbers then do another poll for the thickness !! Who's good at this, I've never posted a poll !!

I would agree. Need to get it perfect. How many more changes are you prepared to do my friend - your eyes must be getting sore with all the photoshop work you're doing !!

;)
