Busse-kins carried for utility/defense?

Does anyone EDC a Busse? If so, what model, sheath, and method of carry? Pics are certainly welcome!!! :D

The reason I ask is because I'd like to have a Busse I can carry comfortably every day. I've carried my CGBJ in a mashed cat but it has a tek-lok instead of a drop attachment (to remain concealed) so the grip gouges me in the side and isn't real comfortable. I'm thinking something like a basic, duty, or something else in the 3-4" blade would be ok but not optimal for something like defense.

How about the rest of yall?

Thanks

Very interested in this as well. I want to get a pork shank to carry on my vest/carrier at work, problem is it's not a molle vest the pouches are built to order and sewn on

I switch between my AMS and 311. Both are tough as nails. If I am doing tougher chores I use the 311, for cutting I use the AMS.

This weekend I learned of the shank's true size. I always thought it was a 3"-ish blade. But overall I think it's 9" which is a pretty big size for EDC IMO. Not sure where you'd put this one your carrier. It's slightly smaller than the Boss Jack and I tried like hell to find a spot on my carrier (Banshee) for that and couldn't. There was just no way to draw it effectively. Especially if you've got no molle, I'm not sure how you would get the shank to work for you.

Almost seems like belt carry is a better option or just pick another blade.

What sheath and where/how do you carry them?

The AMS does look like a GREAT EDC blade!! But I refuse to buy coated INFI. If it was offered in CF with black canvas I'd snatch one up in a heart beat!

Thanks

Routinely carry a Skeleton Key in a kydex sheath in my pocket for years. Just started carrying a Mag Bear Cub. Those are usually the only 2 Busses I can carry anywhere. Keep a Steel Heart in my patrol car.

I'll carry a 411 in a BB Kydex sheath with techloc or a MOFBM in a Chuddy Bear dangler or a Fat Ash in a sheath scout style made by Gunfixerjoe! Okay I got a few I'll carry! Just depends on where I'm goin and what I'm doin. I can't conceal a fixed blade where I am but open carry is okay so my clothing also plays a role. I have my CHP and always have 1 of my 45's on me so I go for a bit of over kill.

You do know that the AMS was just offered a few days ago with BIG finish, not CF, but not coated either right? For just a little more than the coated ones too. Maybe they still have a few...

Yeah I know. I saw it. But no black canvas.

It was added earlier in the day on Monday. Got one coming my way. Already charged too.
Congratulations! You've scored in the recent Thanksgiving Ganzaaaa! Your order confirmation is as follows;

(1) BIG AMS with Black Canvas handles

Your order will be shipping within 1-3 weeks.

I do have a swamp warden I'm waiting on money to pay off and then I'll probably carry that for utility and my rat tail and my 45 for defense. Its hard to choose sometimes and not all my Busse and Kin have pants yet so that also helps in my choosing. But the rat tail will do the job along with the warden, much lighter than what I have been lugging around!

I have a SOB strapped to my go bag (Kifaru E&E), a friend made the sheath for it, and I take the pack with me pretty much everywhere. I also carry a MaxWarden in a junky kydex sheath I made. Super low grade, but it works.

I plan on carrying the MaxWarden or MaxDuty as soon as I get some decent leather sheaths made for 'em. They are both such handy size knives that are super slicey. Perfect for my EDC.

Steak knife or HACK :)

I carry my Rodent Solution IWB @ 1:00, every day without fail. I made my own iwb loop with Velcro and paracord.
Disappears up to the end of the tang, rides there through bending, stretching, squatting, even running without discomfort.
I'm of a leaner build @ 6'4" 150lbs. For size reference.

Pretty sure an AMS or SAR3 would be similar in carry and use, albeit with INFI. I'm sure there are more around this size and even more larger blades.
A cheaper option would be the Scrapyard 411, I have one in my sights as an even harder use EDC.
When I get my Ratmandu in hand tomorrow I'll attempt to carry it the same way as my Solution.
The RMD will most likely be overkill but some would say the Solution is. With my 940-1 in pocket I rarely pull the Rat out unless it's a particularly "abusive" situation, or I just want the reliability of a 3/16 piece of kryptonite.
That's my .02 hope it helps.

One that doesn't leave the cargo pocket is Rat Shaker. Small, light and really stout blade!
I did EDC a mix of MBC and GW - horizontal kydex with small tek-lok; AD, MS, AMS, AMSMO, Vex, Rat Trail, all in kydex sheaths with a short length of de-cored paracord in ITWB set up.

My Shiva Rex is perfect for EDC and the serrations make this lil Busse an all purpose cutter.

Forgive my rant here and I don't want to step on any toes, but I don't understand what it is all about with knife guys and self defense? If you want an edged weapon, get something about the size of an AK-47 or at least a Waki - even a Rucki is a marginal weapon. Swords - an AK-47 - are weapons first and can have a secondary use as a tool. Knives are tools first and weapons as a secondary use. Unless one is a truly skilled knife-fighter, one is well and truly screwed if one has to depend on a knife as a self-defense weapon. Even skilled knife fighters are going to get cut and those that are not skilled are going to get cut badly, possibly with their own knife. In a self-defense situation, one is better off with a baseball bat, a bush axe or a sharpshooter spade. Knives make good weapons mostly in an offensive stealth mode or in a self defense stealth mode where ones opponent feels the knife before he sees it. As far as the law is concerned, having a knife is as bad as a gun - possibly worse in that most concealed carry permits allow possession of a gun but not a weapon-like knife. So you may as well have a gun when self-defense is concerned. A knife is a last ditch weapon that is converted from its role as a tool.
