Busse-kins carried for utility/defense?

I carry a g21 but you never know when you may have to fight to retain your weapon and a blade give me a nice advantage! Lock and trap with my right arm and hand draw knife with left and stop the situation ASAP. I'd rather use my knives as tools and honestly never harm a human ever again but I'm prepared to do so if need be but I'd rather avoid bad situations all togeather! I honestly plan my every putting as if it were an executive protection detail and try and eliminate as May variables as possible. You as the victim never get to pick when, where, number of attackers, Ect so do your best to limit the risks! But if need be defend yourself anyway you can and take your day in court!

Consider a basic 4. It has a great blade for slicing food etc. The handle is full sized and comfortable. Weight is small.

Carried for preferably utility only: AMS LE in a Rowe's Leather horizontal (slight cant) sheath.

The AMSMO fits in this sheath too if I feel the need to switch to the more "feisty" ;) but still very utilitarian version of the AMS.

The way that I understand the law, in most American states. You've got a concealed carry gun permit, you're ok.

You've got a concealed knife. It becomes a concealed weapon, the minute you use that knife to defend yourself. In such a case the knife stop being a tool and becomes a concealed weapon and you are likely to be accused of carrying a concealed weapon.

If I'm right in this (correct me if I'm wrong) you just better be prepared to face the music. Just saying...the authorities are likely to accuse you even if you just used it to scare away would be attackers.
In Virginia from what I understand, open carry of any size fixed is fine. I was told by one of the local officers, that for example 5" sized blade open carry is fine. Folders can't be more than 3".
In Iowa (moving there) apparently anything up to 8" open carry is fine. Folder has to be 3" or less.

I've carried for utility. I've carried a Basic 3 in an unknown makers kydex. The most carried knife is the 7th down on the left row. It's a Heavy Duty and it's been carried in Buy Brown kydex. I have a regular belt sheath and an IWB setup for it as well. I used to carry that knife every day but anymore I don't need such a stout knife unless I'm going into the woods. My EDC bag has a more substantial knife in it for utility use.

Knife laws are often as confusing as gun laws from state to state. Not sure if it is still this way but years ago in Michigan you could not carry a folder with a blade longer than the width of the palm of the hand of the LE officer that checked you. So I guess you just hope that the officer that asks has big hands.

Va open carry of fixed blades is fine any size. Folder length can be restricted by local ordinance's.

I've carried both AMSMO and Swamp Rat R3. The R3 hides better and the handle is shorter (doesn't dig in my side like the AMSMO ). The R3 is so comfy that you forget it's there..... Get SAR3 or Game warden If you want to stick with Busse. Anything with a shorter handle.

NOTHING wrong with the AMSMO though;)
