3/16" Thickness machete? hell no.
.25 inch thick, convex edge, clip point or clip-bolo hybrid. I like this idea a LOT.
Fiiiiiiine I guess 3/16 works, but then a convex edge profile is a must![]()
Ill take an XXL Bushwacker Mistress...
3/16" Thickness machete? hell no.
combat grade mag slabs 18 inch long 2 inch wide 3/16" thick blade 25 inches over all.
Who is down for one?
We'll be needing a name for it......hog-mach, hog-chete???
Ya know you want it!
A true Machete by Busse? I would love to have one. Ain't gonna happen. They know that some idiot will try to pry that long, thin blade out of concrete or some such and then be on here crowing about breaking a Busse.
18-24" blade length, max. 1/8" thick blade, and Res-C handle - sounds good to me!
Happy Friday!! Let's celebrate with a Busse (Kin) Machete!
hey....it's worth a try, right.![]()
Try out a 1311.
It's not a brush clearer, no, but it is an amazing chopper.
I'd like to see them go back to the original differential heat treat of that steel for improved impact toughness on longer, thinner blades.
I agree with Mike that at the thickness, width and length of true machete-class blades, INFI would be subject to much more damage. I've approached Jerry with the idea of waving warranty rights on that kind of blade, as Eric suggests, but the Busse model of the unconditional warranty isn't something he wants to compromise--even to the point of warranting things like Elmax steak knives. And obviously, a really good 1/8 or 1/10 inch thin machete with a 2-inch wide or wider blade is going to invite a lot of abuse. I doubt the cost of blade replacement is even the primary reason not to do it--I just don't think it would do the brand any good to see a large number of INFI blades warped, wrinkled and chewed up--and I think the same problem would occur with SR77 in that kind of blade configuration. So we may never see a true machete, but I don't see why that would keep Jerry from making something just a little stouter. After all, the AK47 is "only" 3/16" thick and has been savagely abused...er, loved... at machete-like tasks by uber-hogs like Dave Brown without any significant damage--I don't see how making just a little wider 3/16" blade (especially with Res-C handle) would hurt.
