Busse Modified ASH1

I think it looks cool and must have been an awful lot of work.

Typically, if you customized it completely to your liking it should be used. That said, it's been my understanding that the US military doesn't particularly like to be "educated" on things. So do what ya got to.

There have been good deals floating around on BossJacks, Badger Attack Tacs, Park Rangers, and Anniversary Mean Streets recently. Also, should be some FlakJacks coming to the exchange.

And yah, prob change the background. Not saying anything about anybody, but it is associated with a specific seller.

Good luck

Honestly, you'd be better off to keep it. You will likely not get anywhere near what you paid for it. Unfortunately, that seems to be the way with all manner of things that are modded, from bikes, to cars, to firearms, to guns. Once you step outside the "factory norm", it becomes a personal taste, and as we all know, those can vary greatly.

Not sure why you took it off the bay, but if you do decide to pursue that again, determine what the lowest price you will accept, and put a reserve on it.

Good luck, and this Jarhead thanks you for your service.

Unfortunately he stated it has to be Three inches or less.:(:thumbsdown:

You have no idea, SR101 is tougher than anything I’d worked with. I started working on it on weekends in August, I finished it a couple weeks ago.
Unfortunately I’m stuck with a rodent 3, it’s a great knife just a little small. I tend to break pocket knives a lot so I prefer a good fixed blade.

I took it off eBay because of all the fees. NP, thank you for yours as well.

I think you did a great job overall, the knife looks great(except for the sawteeth lol) ... next time just strip and polish so you don't heat up the knife too much in the process. by the way, how many busse/kin do you own and when did you get hooked on them? for me it was late 2011, i bought a DSSF and i was instantly hooked on busse/kin. i probably have around 60 of them but lost count lol

Did you carry it deployed? If you advertise it that way some people pay for military collectibles
It was with me everyday. Some of the guys said they’d rather take an extra mag over a knife. I realized that the likelihood of using it for combat was extremely low....when going in small groups, a combat load can go quick. I always carried at least one extra....something about a good knife feels right though.

The saw teeth worked surprisingly well on an oak board. You can’t get it too warm using hand powered tools.
This knife started it for me....I got a swamp rat warden a few months later (my wife claimed it) a ratmandu which I later sold to get a rodent 3. That’s all I’ve had so far. One day I’ll get one with INFI, there a quite a few I like but my family comes first.

I've changed half the Busse's I've bought so far. I've made "projects" out of a couple and several in different phases but no where near that radical, I'm only making them "pretty" with no changes to the blades beyond shiny and removing machine marks
In this case, that's off the chart major surgery well beyond what most would do based on my limited experience here- like YONOSE, just a piglet cuddled up by the fence in the back corner -
If it were me? I'd make it a beater knife for the shop or whatever - or, like others have said, Ebay has someone out there who will get a pudge from it but it's not going to be a Busse freak like the folks here- and yeah, ditch the red carpet - it's not a helper in this case LOLO!!!

Was this one on eBay? Probably pretty significant depreciation. Don't mean to be insulting but since you asked... The lines look amatuer and took a lot of metal off, so much that it can't be altered to be anything else. I'd give $40 max

I'd go $100 with sheath, because that red felt background makes me think it should be listed as an $800 knife.

Greetings. Saw that knife on the bay and moved on. Nothing personal, just too many possible negatives with that many alterations. Have seen photo of soldier in Afghanistan, with a Busse SJTAC in their kit, so that was allowed in his command. Best of luck to you sir, but have no idea what that ASH1 would be worth. It certainly is a unique piece with some legacy from where it was carried. All the best. USN Force Protection - the Gulf 1980.

That's a better presentation for me by far. Just leaves me with a different feeling. Still the most radical thing I've seen done to a Busse but this is a better look for me.
