Busse Pellet / Air Rifle

Revolver .22 w/ shorts or use the bird shot .22 rounds.

Or this - just spray and pray - who the heck need accuracy!!!:

DROZD-zoom.jpg

he Drozd is made in Russia by IZH-Baikal. It uses a standard 12-gram CO2 cartridge and six AA batteries. There are three switches to operate the unique select-fire mechanism. The first one turns on the gun. The second one selects the firing mode: semi-auto (one shot with each pull of the trigger), three-round burst (full-auto) or six-round burst (full-auto). The third switch controls the burst rate: 300 rounds per minute, 450 rounds per minute or 600 rounds per minute.

Cost - just under $200 retail ! :D  :D

beeman hw-97k hit a starling at 80 yds!!!

this rifle is way more accurate than I can shoot!!

CCI, CB longs ,the same power as CB shorts, but will function better in standard .22 rifles. If you can get an older single shot .22 Remington or Winchester, CB longs are extreamly quiet! also pretty good accurate, I have killed some good sizes varmits with them!

Last I heard Walther dominated the target air rifle market. The 10 ring on an air rifle target is about 1/16th inch at 33 feet. Should be close enough. Muzzle velocities can be up to rimfire level.

i've been using a kimber 17mII but a couple new houses have blocked my fav shooting lanes. believe it or not i don't have an accurate 22, i do have a ruger but its a semi and a bitch to feed shorts.
maybe i should get a bolt or pump that will feed the short subs?
as far as i know a 22 might be the same price as a quality air rifle.

Skunk, a quality .22 (CZ), is Cheaper than a quality air rifle, and shooting shorts has about the same noise level. $500 or $600 is not too far out of line for a quality air rifle.

I had the same problem alittle while back... I got a drozd "the full auto bb gun" it's as accurate as I need it but I can fire 10-15 shots in the time it took me to pump my beaman for a second shot.

Some of the new air guns have five shot mags, and with .22 pellets have over 900 fps mussel velocities. (what is 22 LR 1050?) The “cocking” of the gun really just seats a new pellet so it is very easy.

To power these you charge a reservoir on the gun with about 3000 psi from a dive tank or a special floor pump. I think they are good for maybe 15-20 rounds before you need to recharge.

22 sr subsonics would work, but for firing in a populated area (I don't know what your immediate surrounding are like) I would prefer the faster decceleration of a pellet for safety/liability reasons (I am a lawyer in CT, so personal liability is a bit of a sticking point with me...my ficken dog growled at somebody the other day and we were scared they were going to sue....there's more to that story, but it's a tad OT). A crazy fast .177 with good pellets or possibly a .22 or even .22 a little slower may be just the ticket. I have a .177, but a good friend has one of the dive-tank charged .22's that is almost as accurate at 50 feet, (I hit the face in a dime, he hits a nickel) with quite a bit more punch.
I could loan my .177 out if you want. shoot me a PM, and I'll have my mailroom get it to ya.

I have an RWS that is prolly 28 years old, was not top of the line back then.

Top, or even near top of the line Airguns cost the Same as top of the line or near top of the line .22 rifles.

Poison is less selective and more effective, traps can do the job when you are there or not.

What is behind what you are shooting at can come a quite a surprise.

At 100 feet you might be surprized at what you can do with a 4 ot 5 foot long Blowgun, with just a little practice, A blast for rats.

For a trap I used to use a 55 gallon drum with a couple cups of feed in it with a loose lid and a wood ramp leading to the edge.

no air advice here, but my budget Marlin 917 in .17HMR impresses the heck out of me (for a mid $2xx rifle).. for under $2xx the Savage .17hmr really turns some heads

LOL! yeah, the airwolf will more than do it for you! But, at 2000 bucks, there might be a more economical way to take care of your problem. THing is a tacdriver, though!
A Nice side-lever .177 or .22 will more than do it. IIRC (which is unlikely) they can be had for under 200 bucks.

I spent about $140 on a chinese .22 side cocker air rifle. It's about 900 fps and very accurate. It even has a nice fullsize stock.

I think it's called a powmax 1000 or something like that.

Just add a $20 scope and a sandbag rest, those critters won't know what hit them.

They are not as nice as the name brand rifles but dollar for dollar, they are hard to beat.
