Busse purchase of the century?

Welcome to the forums here Dave. You will find everyone around here will provide a wealth of information, and you will likely make a few friends to boot.

It's too bad you sold that knife for so little, but no one burned you. It went for the price you asked is all. Live and learn is all you can do.

Good luck with your future sales, and so sorry to hear about your father. Situations like yours are tough to handle, and you have our condolences.

Best regards, Les.

No. Not at all.

Just sorry we did not find out in time to help you ... which, I guarantee, we would have. We've helped folks before and will again.

Glad to hear that you're going to get full value for the rest of your knives.

Best of luck.

Who was the fellow, a while back, that offered a straight trade, his SHBA for a Hell Razor, ? IIRC, the folks here tried to talk him out of the straight trade, telling him that the SHBA was/is worth considerably more than an HR. However, that's what he wanted to trade for and did. At least he did so knowing what his blade was worth. Given the opportunity, the folks around here are more than happy to help a newcomer.
I usually get the other kind of deal. Sometimes I get a blade for a good price but what often happens is that I pay a bit too much to get a blade that I have been looking for only to have another come up a short time later at a significantly lower price. NO REGRETS! I got the blade that I wanted and was willing to pay that price to get it.
Finally, sorry that some poked fun at you for your undervaluing the BBSHSH II, props for coming here to explain your situation, and so sorry about your father. May he rest in peace.
Pete

To BladeForums.com Members,
Let me start by aplologizing for my actions and words yesterday. I have been under an emotional stress lately due to the loss of my father.

Very sorry to hear you lost your father.

But happy to hear you're going to stick around.

Welcome,

Props to cojones Dave for making up for the previous day's posts. I don't know how many knives your dad (may he rest in peace) collected, but you'll find a wealth of information on this and other sub-forums. I'm happy to help if you're dealing with multiple brands/knife styles. Feel free to shoot me an email if you have questions. So sorry to hear about the passing. Look at it this way though, losing $800 bought you a ticket into a really neat group of people on this here Busse sub-forum you wouldn't have otherwise found.

Dave, the list prices on the Busse sites like bussecollector.com involve how much the knives sold for from Busse. Many older models have appreciated since then and bring considerably more on the secondary market.
