Busse Rip Off alert on epray

So they say. USA company headquartered in the UK. Custom Made [mass-produced] Knives.

But they have had other, conflicting stories over the years - like made in the USA by skilled custom makers, and they have sold knives wholesale, which they denied at the time and deny now.

None of the knife guys in the UK had ever heard of this supposed UK factory back when BritishBlades forum was operating, and they tended to keep up with that sort of thing.

D2 "hand forged for hours"

But, hey, when all you have is their word and they tell different stories, believe what your will to believe tells you. After all, if the knives are made in Pakistan, that would mean someone did not have perfect insight into who on the Internet was worthy of belief. And we all know if it is said on the Internet it must be true.
I have heard this over and over, the owner assures everyone they are made in the UK, I have 2 of them and they do not remind me of anything pakistan makes, I can only go by what the company says but I have seen pakistani made knives and they do not have the fit and finish like these do

I disagree. They look bad enough in pics that they must look worse in person. Again, you have money invested in them, so your opinion will be tainted. Just my opinion. Regardless, how do you feel about buying from a company that rips off other peoples designs, blatantly? Registered trademark ripoffs. At least get rid of the talon holes. Dont make it so obviously blatant. Again my opinion.

I dunno what pictures you are seeing, to be honest, the ones I got the fit and finish is perfect, the angle grinds are perfect, came crazy sharp and high quality leather sheath

I was just as skeptical but I decided to try them, they are decent, and this talk about pakistani origin is unfounded there really is no evidence to support it, there is however to a ton to support they are from the UK

That one looks pretty good. Maybe they have knives and then they have knives. The one I quoted is junk.

Ahh, they do have a factory mistake thing on ebay you can be mistake knives, if that is what you mean? I bought new, I guess the whole thing is there is really no evidence about pakisatni made, just rumor and they say different, I guess it would be easy to see where their base of operation is

No. You are not required to believe anything anyone says unless you believe you hear the voice of God or his angels.

Such is especially the case when the story changes repeatedly. The "factory" used to be a small house in a residential neighborhood with no business license - until it move to a secret location in"the UK." Like Quartermaster Knives, they have to run a top-secret-squirrel operation due to the need for high security. (How do the present top custom makers survive all the risks of operating in the open? Lord save them!)

You WANT to believe it. No one wants to see themselves as having been fooled. I sure don't, but I have been - and likely will be again. Just not by these mooks.

I have seen nicely made Paki knives. I bought one from Timur Knives - "from Canada." The package arrived posted from Pakistan. It was well worth the price with nice fit and finish, lovely handle, and seems properly heat treated - just sold by a lying scammer trying for an unfair advantage.

If you are hearing "the voice of God or angel's" then you need to check yourself into the psych ward.
That OP pic is obviously a rip off. iPak. I think the i is supposed to go after the k not before the P

Guys I found them! They must be legit!

On their website (iPak Survival) they say their company is actually called 'No Limits' and lists their address as 1703 NE Alberta St. Portland, OR 97211

Google Maps street view shows they do indeed have a business there, right next to Courtesy Janitorial Service...

A google search for that business and address shows them to be 'No Limits Stickers', a printing service. Here is a photo of their 'crew' on their website:

Clearly hard core knife-makers, just look at them.

I'm convinced !! :rolleyes::confused::rolleyes:

Please tell Jerry its ben great and a lot of fun, but Im moving on to bigger and better things. in on the ground floor of america's next greatest knife company. Oh sure, I'll miss Amy O, but im confident that nose ring girl will do just as good a job, so, sayonara Wauseon, hello Portland!!

Something doesn't jive just right about this - So google this company and it's a group under several names and this native American brothers and some really nice looking custom things. Then their "ScrewMeBay" store pages and pages of knives and gotta say some are pretty cool, lot of damascus and some wild designs. There's a couple that are flirting with stomping on copyright with the talon holes and there's one with a nice copy of the bird beak pommel with holes.

I'm sure there's good and bad from everywhere but here's the bottom line- Cheap stuff isn't great and great stuff isn't cheap- That is one constant in the universe.
Somewhere in Pakistan there's a guy who got his brand new SOG piece of crap that broke when he banged it on a rock, wonder what he's thinking? ;)

I'm glad you like them, but if you look closely the grind lines aren't that crisp or straight.

Notice how it is written as iPak? That is actually a typo. See how the i before the P is in lower case? That is because it actually is supposed to go to the back of the word.

iPak ---------> Paki

There fixed.

the grind lines are perfect, and ipak does not mean pakistan

Perfect grind lines are not proof at all of a knife being hand made. Infact hand ground blades often have some uneveness on their edges. I think you are focusing way too much on the word "Pakistan"

Even if the knives are not literally made in Pakistan the company is clearly dishonest. First of all the knife in the original post is violating Busse's trademarks. Secondly in my experience when a company is evasive or dishonest about where the knives are made it is not a good sign.

Guys, I think this is a plot by North Korea to sell us knives that will fail prematurely so they can come and take over. They are slowly replacing Busse knives with Busey IPAK knives. This is bigger than Uranium 1. This is bigger than the plot to destroy Bernie.

Regardless, CFK is making and selling blatant Busse ripoffs and they have apparently done this to other knife makers as well. Not a company that I care to buy knives from.

a company uses many designs there are only so many in the ay of aking a knife, it is about impossible not to look like someone else's, whether it is a direct copy I have no idea, but it is hard not to in this biz
