Busse ropeskin micarta

There are separate machines for this, but yes, it certainly is that easy.
My thought, as well. I sort of assumed that one could clamp a rope pattern scale inside a CNC machine, put a ball tip on the toolhead, and have it trace out the surface to create the new program.

Or, just hire Nathan Carothers to do it for you. :D:rolleyes:;)

That handle pattern is actually a little different, the grooves run in the opposite direction and they seem wider spaced
Yes, but it is a rope pattern, yes? So, either not lost & reversed or recreated & reversed.
Either way, rope pattern. :)

I do miss my Badger:

It went to a good home though.

That ba has a huge edge on both sides of blade u less it's a trick with the photography. I thought is was a nice asymmetrical at first, it's supposed to be

I'm fascinated with the pattern on Busse's "ropeskin" micarta. I can't get enough of it. Especially in snake skin color. The linens also look superb. Here are some examples of mine. Let's see yours . Please... View attachment 723483I think I've read and heard they can't make this anymore. Is there a story behind that? Any old timers know more? I know you wanna post some photos too!!:) Thanks

Wow! Nice collection. I wish I'd been into Busse's when those were available. So far all I've been lucky enough to get is a nice unused Paul's Hatchet.

No tricks. I reprofiled it to a symmetrical convex. It would split hairs!

One more comment/question....are the HOG MUK LE's considered rope? Why not, if not?
