Busse sale system

Understand, Don't know if the Old days will ever return. If you do decide you like one of the few models that were offered and are still on the Website, you could contact Busse and see if you could get on the Waiting list for one! If not I am afraid you will have to wait (Like the rest of us) until Busse starts O2W back up-Good luck
What I'm saying is that I would buy more Busse knives if they were offered more regularly
Avwhile back they had regular models in their site... that was prdtty cool

The wait on a Busse is nothing compared to Survive, you may have the option, but you probably don't have the knife! Plus Busse does not require Full payment Until your knife is actually ready to ship! Neither Does Dan Keffeler or Nathan Carother's (with the exception of a recent order on Light Choppers)
Nathan Carother's knives are UNBELIEVEABLE, I like them ALOT-I have nothing but Praise for him and his work-He also Builds and sharpens the Vast Majority of knives he offers
Dan Keffeler's Products are also Incredible, the Sasquatch is my Favorite Large Chopper, there is however a waiting period on his knives as he is a One Man Shop! Busse has all the orders they need at the moment and consequently no new models are being introduced or offered

Hmm maybe prices have just risen then? I remember getting my sjtac and B11 for around 250, and I don't see much in that size in infi for that price

B11's were $297 from Busse in 2010.
SJTAC's were $247...in 2005.

Indeed time goes by fast !
Still remember buying my first Busse the FFBM like it was yesterday was it 2007? 2008?
This knife has been through alot

Also Survive wants full payment up front for a knife u may not see for 6 mo's to a year. That'll piss u off!
Busse only asks for a buck.

I liked O2W, worked out great for me, plenty of time to come up with funds. But i can see how it would be difficult for some one who isnt plugged in to BF to stay current.

My only real gripes anymore have nothing to do with the marketing/production schemes, I'm just sick of the coatings (or pristine satin blades which add no performance yet skyrocket the cost). Case in point, I just got dinged for a knife I order 1 year and 1 month ago... yeah that's a long wait but at least it didn't cost me anything to hold my place in line so it's no big deal.

The coatings however just plain suck, they are quite frankly a disgusting abomination that needs to come off immediately upon receipt... which is pretty much a huge slap in the face when buying a new knife. Of which the only way to remove completely without pulling your hair out is messing with harsh chemicals (no thank you). I still for the life of me cannot understand why INFI (which behaves just like stainless) requires anything for additional corrosion resistance. Lot's of us here like knives that we can use for food processing without paying for collector grade satin finishes that are just meant to look pretty.

Even companies like ESEE are now offering uncoated/unprettied 1095 blades, yes these blades do not have INFI dimples or machining marks... they are also not rusting away into oblivion despite much internet myth. I know Jerry has said there was too much complaining/misunderstanding over the finishes whether competition or BIG SF, but seriously folks who is doing the complaining? If the knives get sold upfront with the expectation of tool marks and or cosmetic dimples, I'm just not seeing who would return them or leave poor reviews... but I'm a reasonable person I guess.

Did you know the Jerry taught Business courses at college years ago?

I have been here 10 years; the Busse sales model keeps changing and adapting, as would that of any smart businessman.

The Exchange here is full of knives being sold at near cost to smart shoppers. One example is the BB13. To my great surpise, you can buy either the BG or CG at essentially the factory price. The same is true of other blades.

Do not hold out for Busse to offer the blade that you want; that is a fool's errand. Buy now, enjoy it, or, sell it, and move on. That is the Busse experience. YMMV.

Here's drinking to the ghost of the Busse Industrail Grade Satin Finish...

Oh, pulleezz....

I like my INFI. But I, personally, do not feel a strong need to pay for factory satin. Very happy with ghetto satin.

Stripping a Combat Grade coated blade is easy. Harsh chemicals? Paint stripper? Please ... .. get over it. Use some common sense, work outside, wear gloves (I don't bother, but that's just me) and you'll be fine.

My point is why should you have to? I guess I'll be sending you all my strippers since it's no big deal... you'll do it for free right? Just kidding of course, I'm not buying anymore Busse's because of this.

Why should you have to?

Because that is what they sell. It's that simple.

Do you want it, or not?

Now, if you want to say that a CG Busse blade, carved by CNC machines, with minimal hand finishing, save final sharpening, is overpriced ... well ... that is a value judgement, isn't it?

There is no right or wrong answer. What is it worth to you?

Buy it, or not.

If other knives/brands/makers fit your own value system better than Bussekin, then I say, good for you. Enjoy.

YMMV.

I remember trying to buy my first busse, a game warden, from the company store. I kept missing the offerings, took me months to get it, but it was sooooo worth it in the end.

For every customer Busse loses there are 10 who have just discovered Busse and Want more! Satin, B.I.G., Comp, CG, or BG, My guess is it is good to be Jerry Busse about Now! Cheers

Here comes Jaxx lol
Quick, say what U must b4 its locked lol

Funny!

Just gonna say this for now...
You can please everyone some of the time.
You can please some people all of the time.
But you can't please everyone all the time.

If the complaints were frequent enough over Comp & BIG finishes that the extra shipping (and inspection, reshipping, comms, total man hours over exactly what was promised only the complainer(s) couldn't comprehend, or alternatively perhaps did comprehend but tried to scam $100 satin finishes, ad nauseum, not to mention eating man hours), I'd have ended them as well, from a business perspective. They aren't entirely gone, it's just that they might only make appearances at shows, where Busse can answer questions and be most clear on the difference from one finish to the other in person. Anyway, just my thoughts... :)
