Busse Security Blanket...

Sounds to me like she needs a handgun that she can easily manipulate and fire accurately. She may need a new address too. ;)

My younger sister just received notice that a Registered Sex Offender is now her adjacent neighbor. The guy looks like Grizzly Adams, only covered in tattoos and much less friendly looking, so really he doesn't look like Grizzly Adams at all except for the long hair and bushy beard. Anyway, I hate seeing her so nervous about this and I want to help. Which Busse would help you to sleep better at night knowing it is by your side? Which one would you be most frightened of if it was waved in your face?

The MOAB of course.

If a newbie, I would recommend a good revolver and some practice with it.
Busse is to back up.

you could get your fingers broken in the guard of the AA. get her a gun and teach her how to use it. the knife is only a backup.

She has really small hands that wouldn't fit well with the AA. I see getting a gun is the higher opinion here. She would definately need to learn to use one though.

+1 get her a gun and training asap or get her to move.

When convicted violent felons have been asked what they fear most when they break into a house or attack someone the answer is almost unanimously that they will be confronted with a gun.

Well lets see, the old saying of never bring a knife to a gunfight applies here. Personally, I keep a FN Para beside my bed, a Glock 19 on my night stand, an AK74 in my office, a 1911 springfield in my bathroom... you get the idea... these are first choices, but If I had to get up close and personal at night.. Actually the new blade.. Argonne Assault would be a sweet blade to have if it got nasty at night.. knuckles, skull crusher, and a sweet fighter blade.. 10".. it would work, although, I would have liked an 8" for more maneuverability.
for my wife, she doesn't like all the "stuff" on an automatic, so she uses a nice 4" S&W 686 revolver

A good dog can be worth it's weight. But that's if she can afford to feed the beast as well as vet bills. I would go with firearm and training. A knife would be nice, but you never know if the guy has hepatitis or something of that nature. As well as the fact that I've had a friend that had a 6" screw driver in his head and didn't feel it (Bar fight, was near the base of his head/neck and he's fine now lol). When adrenaline is going, you may not realize you were cut. This is just my unexperienced and unqualified opinion :)

Urban Grudge...on the business end of a bigazz revolver. ;)

Get her a pistol that she will carry while at home. If possible, take a class and sign up for a CCW, get a good holster, and carry diligently. A SW642 with CT grips is a great place to start. If she only wants a nightstand gun, get her a G19 with a TLR1, make her keep it cond. 1 and out as long as there are no children in the home.

Hi Lexi
First off, sorry to hear your sister as to deal with that crap... Not frikkin cool!
But do encourage her to learn to shoot! if he is a big dude she does not want to have to get so close that her weapon could potentially be taken away. My wife is 5ft-nothing with tiny hands and I recently got her into shooting and she loves it! Even with her little mits she can control my .45's.

My recommendation a Taurus Judge or S&W Govenor, they're pistols and both shoot .410 shotgun shells
it's a great home defense tool. I almost traded mine to Jerry (iron for INFI) but she kaboshed that real quick. In fact she said I can't trade HER gun, and told me to order whatever knives I wanted. (Gotta say getting her into shooting was a get idea)

In any case do not take it lightly! I'm all for a second chances, rehabilitation and what not, but offenders are offenders and they are amoung the lowest of the low.

Take care & be safe

Well, if I had to choose a Busse to go next to the 1911 by my bed, it would probably be a Silent Knight, maybe a TT Killa Zilla.
