Busse the Toad Slayer !

WOW........... im a little shocked some of you seem to err on the side of the toad.

Matts Custom Shop FFBM worked a treat here and its a dam shame every Aussie doesnt have one just like it to do the same.

Jerry - can you help a man here, before the CROCODILES of the Northern Territory (my birth place) become extinct ...

Since the introduction of OPAL fuel in NT... word has it some of the 'kids' have taken to Licking the backs of these PESTS given their hallucinogenic poison, known as bufotenine for 'fun' .........................

(YES these freaking pests have reached out and into the great NT of all places............)

Again, Matt - thank you for the service and personally i couldnt think of a better way to break in your new INFI!

Travis.

From that Wikipedia link...

The spread of cane toads in Australia from 1940 to 1980 in 5-year intervals.

Why did they stop counting in 1980? Have the toads conquered Australia?

Travis, I don't think many err on the side with those Toads. We sure understand the problems they are causing you guys, esp with that link Guyon put up, and doing some reading myself.

It seems to be happening to some extent in South Florida(and other places here on a lesser degree) with several species of animals and plants.
With all the exportation of products, and the travel by humans this kind of stuff will continue to happen.
Here in the deep south fighting the forgeign Kudzo plant has been a battle for decades(we brought it here like dummy's).

I feel for you guys having the problems with them that you are. I hope its not to late to find a way to get rid of them.

At least you Aussies aren't being overrun by the Asian jumping carp.

Is this a picture of Skunk? Have the carp already made it to Idaho?

oh yes,
I didn't recognized that the topic starter lives in Australia.:o
The spreading of invasive-non endemic species is usually the result of human stupidity...we have similar problems with grass carp, american catfish, and crappie...not as heavy as you guys with the toads, tho'.

Crappie invasive? I'll take every one I can eat and the rest for the freezer. :p

Actually, I do understand about unbalancing ecosystems. Still, those crappie are some good eating.

yep, Guyon,
I would like to have crappies as big as you have there in our waters. but they don't grow bigger than some 15(20 MAX) cms here, because our waters and climate a bit colder. but actually I like crappies as they are just beautiful and "intelligent" among fishes. I had some in my aquarium, too.;)

as rainbows pushing out browns from quite many waters in Europe...

I thought he said carp  You like them too? :D Could be the makings of a new sport here in Georgia - Flying carp + boat+ beer + basebal bat = Watch 'is

Be certain you're out of the evil reaches of PETA.

F That. PETA needs to stay outta my reach.... Once had one of those loonies tell me they would cut my fly line while i was out fishing. I told em he better be faster than a .40 S&W. That settled that. Now that i have busse's even better. Cant wait for one of them to harrass me while i pull the AK outta me ruck.

Back on topic toads are fun to do mean things to...

That reminds me of something that happened to me as a young kid. I was laying in the tall grass honing my pellet gun sniping skills. I was zeroed in on a little song bird, concentrating real hard and about to pull the trigger. When all of a sudden this frog jumped and hit me in the face. It surprised me so much I decided instead to take it out at point blank range. Damn thing splattered all over the place.

That was Tweety's lucky day!

Maybe People Eviscerating Toads in Australia? :p

Population control is completely different than gaining pleasure from torturing an animal for fun.:thumbdn:

Does it look like he tortured that toad? Looks like one clean whack to me. Little guy never knew what hit him. Hit the bricks, troll.:thumbdn:

Check who I quoted before you make a remark. Nizrulesall said "being mean to toads is fun". And quit being so quick to call people trolls.:thumbdn:
