Busse Tube Fastener Issue

I need a little insight from the Busse aficionados here regarding a concern I have over some of the tube fasteners on two of my knives: a Hell Razor and an AK-47.

When compared to my other Busse knives, these two appear sub par in the fit and finish arena. No offense to the hard core hogs here, but these two examples are completely unsatisfactory when talking about $400 knives IMHO.

The first photo is of a FSH that is representative of my other Busses: the tube fasteners are smooth, dull in color, perfectly symmetrical, fit flush and are deeply seated into the handles. This is what I expect on a Busse.

The other photos show tube fasteners that are rough with a bright aluminum shine, show multiple tooling marks with burs/nicks/shavings/striations, are not symmetrical in shape, are not flush or fully seating as evidenced by gaps between the fasteners and the handles, and in some cases actually protrude slightly from the handles themselves.

This being my first substantive post beyond "I'll take it!" in the exchange, please be gentle.

The photos could be a little sharper but are plenty clear for the purpose of this discussion.

I appreciate any insight I can get into this matter.

assuming photos 2-4 came to you like that from the factory, they do look like crap. id send them back and request they be replaced.

If you send them back, I am sure they will be taken care of. That being said, they shouldn't have come out that way in the first place.

In all the years with all the knives I've had come through, don't ever remember seeing anything like that.

I BLAME PORKERSON!!!

I agree with Porkimoto. . . . Those fasteners do look like crap and are finished horribly!!!! . . . . Please return these blades and they will be corrected. . . . This is why drinking and tube finishing don't mix!!!! . . .

I personally apologize for the poor finish on these fasteners and there really is no excuse for these having gotten out of our shop like this. . . . I will see to it personally that they are "On The Money" when they are fixed and that you are taken care of. . .

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Jerry

The only fix for that knife is to get my name off of it immediately and then find the person who did that and pommel them about the head with a bottle of Pig's Nose. . . Luckily, Cobalt has volunteered to empty the bottle first!!! . . . .What a giver!!!!
