Busse vs Mora for Tomato Slicing Contest?

On another forum I was talking about the insane quality/durability of Busse/kin in a discussion about the utility of Mora blades. Someone chimed in and said a Mora would beat Busse when it came to tomato slicing. Now to be fair we were talking about larger Busse's and the Mora 4" blades.

What are your thoughts? Could a larger Busse defeat a Mora in such a (useless) contest?

Thanks

No. The much thinner Mora would win, if sharpened to the same degree as the Busse. Now lets make that a smaller, very thin Busse, say the Max Duty, and the answer might be different.

Means nothing. we could devise ridiculous scenarios to make a simpleton conclude that almost anything is better than something clearly superior in almost every way.

And this is sort of what happened. I was talking about a Busse's ability to chop, pry, etc. and even referenced the recent pic I saw of someone hammering it directly into pavement with no real damage and someone chimed in talking about how he'd like to see it match up against a Mora for tomato slicing.

should have told them that a good chef's knife will do the best job and outdo anything that is not made for the purpose of cutting food.

While these are both about the same thickness, I can make the mora sharper with its scandi blade, but the full flat grind and Elmax steel slices better and stays sharper longer.

I like Busse's as much as everyone, But comparing a 200$ Busse to a 20$ mora.. Cmon guys

Yeah, here it's sort of silly to do. But elsewhere you'd swear the Mora had magical powers the way some insist it's just as good. And if it's not...it's probably at a task that doesn't need to be done.

Re cutting tomato slices, in the food service people may have to cut 10-30 tomatoes at a time. An example would be a hot dog stand. Having used a Mean Streets knife and a Mora in this context the Mora wins hands down. In other contexts the Mean Street would be superior. If I had to cut part of a photo very precisely, I think an exacto knife would beat them both hands down. Right tool for the right job.

My HHFSH is getting rather impatient with the ridiculous suggestion that Mora's are a Busse equivalent. This is indeed pretty silly. Mora's are awesome. I love them and own several. They are highly effective disposable razors -- err I mean utility knives  ;)

Used my finger nail clippers to cut down a tree, but for some reason it took longer than when I cut down an equally sized tree with my chainsaw. Odd that the same chainsaw didn't do a very good job on my fingernails.......
