Thats a great question that I always wondered about. Even though I couldn't see anyone breaking a Busse. Maybe they give you shop credit.
This was brought up a few weeks ago. The company will repair it, or replace the knife for its original selling price, not its current market value.
So, if your going to use it hard just don't hurt it beyond repair.![]()
If anyone has seen my SHe use/abuse pics will know that I am not really worried about damaging my knife beyond repair.
I don't think I'm strong enough to hurt my FFBM,aside from beating it with a 16 lb sledge.
That sucks, because I think the Battle Mistress was like 250 new, badger attack 200, steelheart 250.
Now i dont think I will be using them. oh well.
You cant get anything Busse to replace them at those prices.
They're not made out of glass! The original straight handle Busse's are the toughest of the family. Your NOT going to break one.
Edges are fixable, coatings are repairable, handles are replaceable. You have to literally use extreme methods to take one beyond its working limits, if your planning to chop steel or bricks, take a sledgehammer to it, or bend it repeatedly.
If you bought collectors items then NO dont use them. If you bought knives to use them then by all means use them as was intended.
I dont think I will damage one as well but it does make me a little hesitant to use them. But I like to, Thats why I got them. But I also tend to use other knives more because of the Question.
yeah that would blow if that were the case, they don't make new ones of the old ones on a regular basis. They will only replace with credit, yet the 2nd'ary market is driven by their business model, and that has driven the price up ridiculously on their best blade designs. The credit on the original price wouldn't even get you a current model at the asking price. So how would one get a TRUE replacement on an older model.
I think this "Lifetime Warranty" definition is wrong. I'm pretty sure they have said "We'll take care of you" in all cases? Have I been mis reading this forum for the last year.....?
If you break on of the big ones it was done on purpose for sure with a lot of work.![]()
