Busses and Guns

Beautiful Pistol, been looking to buy my a Revolver-Have not owned one in many years-I can see it is a smith with 6 inch barrel in 44 Magnum-what model number is it? Thanks
Thanks. It's a 629 CL DX (Classic Deluxe). From what I've read they were 629's that showed above average accuracy during test firing, then pulled for some extra detail work like a target trigger and hammer, an "endurance package" (not really sure what that entailed) and chamfered the edges on the cylinder.

Thanks, beautiful Revolver

I read somewhere about the endurance package. I can't remember the specifics, but it sounded a bit like mythium. Nevertheless, an exquisite revolver, of which I am quite envious.

I got one of the classic's when they first came out in a six inch version if I recall correctly maybe 6 and a half. I should have kept it because I could shoot it with the factory open sights off sandbags at clay birds I'd place on a hill 80 yards away with open sights and bust one after the other with factory 240 grainers. Those guns will shoot very well with the upgraded package that was offered in the classic model. They are running a lot more these days than when they first came onto the market though.

Yeah. As far as I can remember it had something to do with upgraded pins in the hammer and trigger and deeper or longer cylinder stop notches, but I believe that stuff ended up becoming part of regular production on later production guns. All I know for sure is that even with the "endurance package", when I was young, single, had a whole lot more disposable income and extra heavy bullets had become all the rage in magnum revolvers I still put enough rounds thru it to warrant a trip back to S&W to tighten her back up.

my combos would look amazing i always play with the different pairings but because of where i live i cant bring myself to even take a picture of my guns.

Haven't gotten anything new in awhile. Just stumbled on this thread and it got me thinking about what I should get next. Might be time for another large frame Smith.

When the army announced that the Sig Sauer P320 had won the pistol contract i slipped out and bought one. Got a deal on a used 357sig 350 bucks.

As I've messed with it and shot it I've come to think they picked a really sweet pistol. The whole modular thing is pretty cool. All you do to remove the trigger module which is the only part that counts as a gun is pull out the take down lever after you remove the slide. New module's run 35 to 40 bucks, any size you like. I converted it to 40 of course with just dropping in a 40 barrel. To go to 9mm costs about 300 bucks.

All the things I normally change out on a new Glock are already fixed on the Sig, steel night sights and a much better trigger.

A little do it yourself camo job on an extra grip module.

That little block with the trigger is the part that is considered the gun.
