Busses and Whisky

Peat is where it's at!! That's a great one to start with!! Not too overwhelming but still an excellent full flavor. After that, try Ardbeg 10, and then Laphroaig 10. I'm sure Cobalt could give better advice but that's what I'd do.

With whisky I find the second (and third etc.) tasting better than the first, because the air gets in the bottle after the first time you open it. It mellows a bit of the fire but draws out some of the other tastes. The first tasting is sometimes a bit rough (at least if you down it right away. They say leave it to air for 1min for every year of age, but it can be hard to wait that long). So try the JWB a second time and see if it's any better.:)
I will give it some different goes for sure as to train myself. I was getting there with the D-wood, there might be a third of it left, but I couldn't handle it neat, had to add ice and even then didn't mellow it a lot.
What's your opinion on putting it in the freezer? that's how I like Tequila, just seems smoother and I like how it warms up going down that seems to release quite a desirable experience. If that's the stupidest thing you've ever seen remember I'm just a dumbass noob :D ~
I'm thinking the Last Rites will do the honors cracking this one open~ Yeah I hope I dig it, sure wasn't on the clearance rack in the price point :D but hey, don't know if I don't try.
Oh, question - so I've seen reference to flavors of "iodine" ~ now to me? that doesn't sound pleasant in the least- Any thoughts on what is being referenced? that just doesn't come across appealing whatsoever` I don't want to have that experience LOL! `

Iodine = medicinal = it's good for you :eek::D

I would not put whisky in the freezer. Drinking it slightly warm helps release the flavors (the good ones). Hence you cup the glass in your hand to warm it up a bit.

Post a pic with your Last Rites!

Almost there! I shall partake this evening :D I covered 2 stones with this one, Whiskey and Guns :D

A thing of beauty!!
Foodquig does a nice review of Lagavulin16 on his youtube channel.
If you find it a bit rough at first try a drop of water in it.
Hope it gives you a pleasant evening!!

I was not expecting that at all - WOW! That was an experience worth discovering. How this Lagavulin ends up in the same category as these others is confusing to me. This was on an entirely new plane. WOW! Now I am intrigued, I may have found something to love :D

Luckily it's on the box how to pronounce it HAHA! -
Now I can put into context the discussions here and I understand much more. So scratch the Monkey Shoulder and the Glenlivet` that is now watered down rinsates from the still cleaning process compared to this bottle of smokey goodness - My initial thoughts were "now I know what a warm fire tastes like"

I picked this up on a whim - Timing was right to put some virgin Infi to use :D
I'm picking up something like sweet spicy alfalfa while standing in a green field of dairy cows - I actually was going to grab some Laphroaig 10 but the shelf was empty  Oh :poop: ~ but decided to try something a little different to give them time to restock.

Leonardo63 did you go directly to the Busse workshop to pick it up?? :)
LOL! Are ya nutz? No one, goes directly to the Busse shop HAHA! .... :D There's target acquisition tracking lasers, autonomous reactive drones, pressure sensors, IR scanners, underground tunnels and other things I'm sure no one could imagine. Better luck walking into the Pentagon with a beer and some strippers~ well, that might actually get you into the Pentagon come to think of it. ~ but a bottle of JWBlue I hear is like a magic key to open all the doors but that's only a rumor. "The Compound" is kind of famous in these parts~ lots of rumors.... haunted houses aint got sht on "The Compound" ;)

You only haven't make it through the security field because you ain't been drunk enough :eek:o_O:eek:. I guarantee if you eat a plate of bacon and then down half a bottle of Laphroaig 10 you will make it through !! Give it a go and let us know what happens :):D

Ha ha. I pictured you trying to access the Busse Compound and was shoo away with the latest defensive technology: shooting knifes, in this case the latest offering in the form of the Trough Raider!

I'd take a knife in the back to score an early release!

I might have a clear favorite whiskey. I have another Booker’s 30 on the way.

Booker’s - Busse - Glock

Little Book Chapter 1 - Booker's 30 - Little Book Chapter 2 - Booker's

I have heard bookers is good. I will have to try it some day. My go to bourbon is ECBP. My favorite rye is pikesville. There are so many good bourbons and ryes that I know I have a long way to go before I get to all of them. But I have had George T Stag and Stagg Jr, which I love. I just finished a bottle of pappy 15 and have a 10 and 12. I have never been able to get 20 or 23 pappy and have not tried William Larue Weller bottling. I love McKenna single barrel, which is now getting hard to find after winning the SF spirits challenge two years in a row, beating all the other bourbons.
