I will give it some different goes for sure as to train myself. I was getting there with the D-wood, there might be a third of it left, but I couldn't handle it neat, had to add ice and even then didn't mellow it a lot.Peat is where it's at!! That's a great one to start with!!Not too overwhelming but still an excellent full flavor. After that, try Ardbeg 10, and then Laphroaig 10. I'm sure Cobalt could give better advice but that's what I'd do.
With whisky I find the second (and third etc.) tasting better than the first, because the air gets in the bottle after the first time you open it. It mellows a bit of the fire but draws out some of the other tastes. The first tasting is sometimes a bit rough (at least if you down it right away. They say leave it to air for 1min for every year of age, but it can be hard to wait that long). So try the JWB a second time and see if it's any better.![]()
What's your opinion on putting it in the freezer? that's how I like Tequila, just seems smoother and I like how it warms up going down that seems to release quite a desirable experience. If that's the stupidest thing you've ever seen remember I'm just a dumbass noob

I'm thinking the Last Rites will do the honors cracking this one open~ Yeah I hope I dig it, sure wasn't on the clearance rack in the price point

Oh, question - so I've seen reference to flavors of "iodine" ~ now to me? that doesn't sound pleasant in the least- Any thoughts on what is being referenced? that just doesn't come across appealing whatsoever` I don't want to have that experience LOL! `
