But will it mow the grass????

That's different.:) Inevitable after the Dixie Chopper bike the teutels built. Pretty neat theme bike.

Looks like a V8:eek:

Should have used a JD motor. A 4.9L powertech with a turbo on it would have been pretty interesting and about the right size. Or they could have stretched that thing out with one of the big 6's and put some real apehangers on it :D

Come to think of it....has anyone ever seen/heard of a deisel bike before? I haven't, but I don't know much about bikes.

Matt, The USMC have been using a diesel version of the bike I own, a Kawasaki KLR. In fact, my son-in-law, recently honorably discharged, was a part of the R&D program. He got to spend a few months out on some California desert, riding the KLRs, beating the snot out of them all day, and turning them in to the engineers at the end of the day for analysis and refitting of different components. Tough duty, huh?

I also visit the KLR650 forums, and these guys are desperately trying to offer a civilan version of this bike. Basically, most of teh KLR forumites shot them down severly. Yes, they are rugged. Yes they will burn Diesel and JP8 and get 100mpg, but they are slow and very expensive. They would cost about 130% more than the regular gas version of the KLR.

Here's mine:

Obviously, and from the look on his face, Nemo is not happy about sitting still for the photo. He'd rather chase me around when I am on it. :D

Higgy::mad:  You know how to spoil a good thread by putting rice into it.:p :p
I think the bike is a Boss Hog and has a small block Chevy in it.:D

Thats really cool, very interesting website.
The rpm range is what I was wondering about. It hadn't occured to me that they would make a deisel that was meant to run that fast in its normal operating range. I would have expected a more traditional engine, and something along the lines of the (somewhat) new infinitely variable transmissions.
I started drooling when I saw the pic of them machining the intake for it too! To machine that out of a solid block like that.....just think of the fun you could have with a machine like that  :D
