Button-Actuated Compression Lock

I don't know. I am just not that excited about a button. If you have a button you don't really need a Spydie hole and that is one of the trademark features of Spyderco knives. Just not for me. Maybe I am just old fashion or just old. I still prefer to put the key in the ignition instead of pushing a button to start my car.

This is not about switchblades or a button actuated switchblade. This is about not having to put your finger inside the frame of a knife to disengage the lock mechanism, whereas you have a button on the outside of the scales to disengage the lock for you.

I guess it will depend on the placement and action of the button, but wouldn't this be prone to unlocking the blade accidentally?

I've never had that problem with my custom version. (I'd post some pics and video but it is actually out for some customizing work with Josh @ REK right now.) I will say this -- I'm actually expecting the mechanics of this knife to be superior to the custom version. Spyderco knows the compression lock so much better than Kevin Smock does.

I never had a problem with my slipjoint, but I don't use it like I do my locking knives.

I will hold judgement until this is our in the wild...
