BEWARE! I put a knife up for trade in the trade forum, looking to swap it for the same knife, different color. I was contacted by Michael Snow from Carolina Beach, NC on Christmas night, stating that he had the knife I wanted, he would gladly trade. We exchanged e-mails, his is msnow999@gmail.com, and worked out the details of the trade along with addresses. I sent mine and sent the tracking info. USPS website shows that my package to him was delivered on 12/30/13. I have not received ANYTHING from him. I have tried to e-mail him daily since the day after Christmas to see if he had mailed my package but.............nothing. I usually am cautious about whom I deal with, asking for forum names, reviewing feedback, etc, but I didn't do that this time. We talked about the knives we had, and even worked out a secondary trade. Fortunately it was only an ESEE Candiru and a sheath, so I am not out a lot of money, but nonetheless, I am out a knife and sheath if he doesn't come through.

Has anyone dealt with him? Does anyone know him?

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

I tried to Google the address, does not come back as a business as where he supposed works. I tried to look it up in the yellow pages, no luck.

Just beware if a MICHAEL SNOW contacts you,,,,,

I'm not sure. It totality is my fault because I didn't get his forum name. He e-mailed me direct from my forum posting!!! I typically check out forum members before agreeing to buys/ sales/ trades. Fortunately it was not a high dollar knife!

His email is: msnow999@ gmail.com

If the package shows up, I will apologize from the court house steps.

I worked out a trade with this guy on the 26th and told him that I could probably ship on the 27th. He told me that he would ship sometime in the next few days but no later than the 30th. Luckily I got to the post office about 10 minutes to late on the 27th and emailed him to tell him that I would ship the next day. I didn't recieve anything back and decided to wait on him to email me because I asked for his username in order to check feedback. I have emailed him everyday since asking him if the trade is still on and haven't received an email back. The weird this is that he gave me a New York address. Chances are this guy is a scammer.

If you do a google search on this email, it turns up a North Carolina number from 2008ish. If I was in your shoes I would be calling this number sooner rather than later...

update: he has stuff listed at armslist.com and was using this same number as soon as November of this year. Bet he's not expecting a call from you.:D

I got scammed by this jerk also. Worked out a trade, made the deal, I held up my end and shipped and emailed him tracking never to hear anything again, his package was delivered yesterday. It was about a $200 knife also. He didn't have any feedback but I made the mistake of giving him the benefit of the doubt because we all started out with no feedback. Just can't trust anyone. By the way he gave me a NY address also.

He contacted me about a umnumzaan I had for sale. He wanted to work out a trade, but was acting suspicious. I told him it was a no go.

I know this has been covered to death.....but i have forgotten the answer. assuming this fellow is a scammer.....is it postal fraud of some kind? Is there any recourse for those who gpt robbed.

hope y'all can get made right somehow.

I live in NY. Do you want to PM / email me the address? At worst, I can tell you if its a legit residence...

This is the second time that I have almost been scammed with the last month and a half. I hate to ask people to ship first but I may have to.

Apologies. I stand corrected. I thought it was NYC. This is deep in Long Island. Looks like a nice enough house. Might make sense to give it a call.

This behavior irks me, I would like to do some trades but I'm not sure it's such a good idea anymore. I no these people are few and far between. I think it's safer to make honest sale, then buy what I want. Or maybe just trade with gold members or higher. I don't know. Any thoughts?

Trade with reliable people. How can you tell? Look at iTrader and FEEDBACK, go to their profile and see what forums they post in. The wider their interests, outside the Exchange, the better. See how long they've been here.

The more posts they have, the better! :D
