Trade with reliable people. How can you tell? Look at iTrader and FEEDBACK, go to their profile and see what forums they post in. The wider their interests, outside the Exchange, the better. See how long they've been here.
The more posts they have, the better!![]()
He also wouldn't provide me with his forum name even tho I asked 3 times (I found him but I made the mistake of emailing his posted email, not threw the forum and I don't remember his name).
The more of these I see, the more I begin to believe that it might be a good idea to start setting up middle-men in trade transactions.
Not going to happen. On an ad hoc basis, maybe two people can agree on a willing middleman, but I don't see Bladeforums getting involved / being responsible on a regular, formal basis.
This is also a good example of why you should never post your email address directly into a forum post. Any non member can see it there and email you...even to the point of acting like the person that was suppose to email you.
I got a small scam on me once, cheap thing was lost so it was a good lesson learned. The scammer emailed me, acting like the actual honest forum memeber. Saying hey here is my address ...etc.....so i thought i was dealing with the person i had worked a deal with in the public forum. But nope, day or two later the REAL person contacted me and was like, "whats up we still doing this deal" ....DOH lol
So always good to have your wits about you.
It sounds like good practice to me. Why make it easy for them?I don't agree about the email bit - they can always find out your email. A better approach in my opinion is to ascertain the forum name and email, and drop the deal if there is any doubt.

I always ask for the forum name, check the posts made by that member, and if my 6th sense says okay, proceed with any further comm. Honest members' can provide you with verification details pretty straight up, without any pretenses.
