I live in the south of japan on the island of Kyushu in the city of Oita. There is no dealer here. It is difficult to look for other dealers in japan (in japanese). Could anyone be of assistance. I would like to buy the (folding) Kalinga Pro with brass and cherrywood handle. It's part number is 0419RWS-B Please help if you can....................... I'd like to buy it hear to save on shipping.

Welcome to Bladeforums.

I'm moving this from the Buck forum to our FEEDBACK forum for advice on dealers.

I went to the Buck web site and they do not list any authorized dealers outside of US and Canada.
Sorry not to be of more help.
BTW: Welcome to the forums.

What you save on shipping will probably be negated by the higher markup over there.
I've pretty much always had to buy mailorder/online so i don't understand the resistance to buying mailorder/online.
The only real advantages to buying in person are that you get to paw the goods before you buy and you get to take it home the same day you buy it, lol.

At least check out ebay and see what the shipping will be. then if you do find one over there you can gauge whether its a good deal or not.
Seasons Greetings!

Lonny,

I don't know this but the Japenese do seem to have a high cost of living and don't seem to play fair in the free trade game.

I would look into having one shipped in as an option as noted above. You just may save yourself some money.

Welcome to the Forum and drop back into the Buck Forum. A lot of good Buck discussions going on there.

Something else to consider are the customs and import duties if Japan imposes them. I see all the time where foriegn buyers on Ebay get hit big time when their item gets to the county that they are in.

Don't mean to divert from what you want, dismiss Buck Knives (I have a few), or get political, but you do realize you are living in what is probably the premier knife manufacturing country in the world...?
