There's the compression lock.

Instead of relying on the liner to keep the tang upright, the compression lock puts the liner between the tang and a stop pin. So there shouldn't be much worry about the lock failing by bending out of shape. I would also imagine that there would be less grinding between the tang and the compression liner compared to the way a liner lock contacts the tang.
