so i am perfectly fine purchasing online, but i have noticed that a lot of knife sites have out of date product lists or are more expensive than others or simply dont have as extensive a product library as others and was wondering what you all use. thanks.

Knifeworks or KnivesShipFree, either one can be counted on. I also use BladeMatrix for comparison shopping online.

The best place to start is probably the Good, Bad, & Ugly subforum here, which is dedicated to collecting people's experiences with different sellers (including web retailers, custom makers, and BF members selling on the Exchange) and with various companies (for example, how well the customer service department from Company X resolved a problem with one of their knives). Just do a search for whatever retailer you're considering purchasing from and see what people have been saying about them.

Also, to get you started, here's a list (in no particular order) of some of my go-to retailers: Knifecenter, Knifeworks, GP Knives, Howe's Knives, Blade HQ, New Graham, Cutlery Shoppe. For Kershaw and Zero Tolerance knives, including some great deals on factory seconds, kershawguy (Dave) is fantastic.

I've done fine with newgraham, knifeworks, bladehq, grand prairie. Heard good things about the other suggestions. As long as you're going with a big name and like the price, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

one stop knife shop
newgraham
knifeworks
knifecenter
bladeHQ
all of them have great reputations

Agree with all save for BladeHQ. Had a rough go with them, ending in me contacting my bank to sort it out. And if Qknives is still in business, stay away.

Knifeworks is my favorite. Not always the lowest prices, but highly reliable.

Please do not use the General discussion forum for these types of posts.

The rules in the sticky at the top of are pretty clear. It would be a shame to let the discussion forums turn into a where to buy what forum.

If you get a chance shoot me an email & let me know what happened: cam (at) bladehq.com. I don't like anyone to walk away unhappy.
