Does anyone else have this problem? Every time I finally get funds to but a blade over $300 if I like it I buy another one of the exact same model even though they sit in a safe!

I've done it once. I have two October, 2000 Benchmade Knife of the Month - 940 Osbornes with blue scales. I intended to use one, but instead I picked up a standard green one that has been an occasional user. I haven't done it since and I don't intend to do it again, but I did it once

If I truly love a knife I will get doubles of it. But it has to be a knife I carry. This is because knives get discontinued and some knives I can’t live without.

There’s nothing wrong with what you’re doing though. Enjoy collecting as you see fit.

I will say knives are more enjoyable to me when I carry them though.

Darn ocd!

Can you explain it? I'm genuinely curious. To me it's like having two identical cars in a climate controlled garage with 0 miles, KNOWING I could just keep one mint and take the other out for the occasional spin OR have two similar but different cars in that garage. Or in knife terms, say one Sebenza with Carbon Fiber and one with Fancy Wood Inlays. o_O

I wish I could explain it mate! I have ocd so it may have something to do with it!

Could be, yeah. I'm kinda OCD about my knives too, but more in the sense that I try to keep DLC looking nice and scratches annoy me. I only have two of the Para 2, but once is blacked out CF the other Satin+Copper Scales, so it's more like two different versions of the same models.
You could at least put them into different safes, you know so can argue "But what if somebody steals Safe A? I still have the identical knives in Safe B! Ha-Haa!" and twirl your mustache. How about some twin pictures?

Nope. I have unused knives, b/c they just have not been pressed in to service yet, but they are not true safe queens.

But I do have sets of doubles. They're for when I have to go in to a bad situation, and I can suit up accordingly.

- Two RMJ Black Raider Daggers
- Two Les George Galvos Daggers
- I'll be buying two or three Emerson fixed Kwaikens when available.
- I'll be buying two Winkler Everycarry's
