BWM or B11

I'm not sure exactly what my vote would be because I like them both. At the moment I have one BWMLE and 2 B11's and for what it's worth the B11 is always in my truck and the one I seem to grab as a user most of the time. To me the handle is the deciding factor.

My vote is for the B11. I like the balance, blade shape/thickness, and the handle.

I have both and prefer the B11 for its comfortable grip, added length and lighter weight, though the BWM is no slouch !!! Don't have the LE but I hear that it rocks!

I have the B11 and the handle is very comfortable and feels great while using it.

12 to 8 in favor of B11 right now. Thanks everyone. I've heard that BWMLE's are quite different from the CG model performance wise. LE blade is a little thicker and it is uncoated. Mine is a ghetto satin blade that just came back from being reconvexed and sharpened by Ban. SHE was beat up pretty good, but she is fine now.

BWM hands down. My BWM and BWMLE are two of my favorite Busses. Had a B11 at one time and sold the next day..wasn't the knife for me. I would buy a Dogfather before a B11...

Score one for the BWM: 12-9

Basic-11 for me. There's no way I can even come close to breaking Res-C handle and reduced tang, and I don't think anyone here can manage that either in normal usage condition. I prefer the balance of Basic-11 over BWM.

As others have said I really like both. The b11 wins overall based on the extra blade length, the amazing res-c handle and just having the feel of a machete/chopper. The BWM feels like a big Bowie, not saying that is bad it is just different than the b11.

Having extensively used both versions of the BWM and the B-11, the B-11 just plain outperforms the CG BWM period even before you consider the chop for your buck. ;)

BWM LE vs CG = two entirely different creatures for sure with the LE being well worth it's price, so offloading the CG with the prospect of a future LE replacement could be a very good thing. The same can't be said of the B-11. Also, I am sure you are already aware that your freshly Banned BWM sounds like it is ready to bring in a little more money than the B-11 will given your stated current situation.

I have both the B11 ASM Grind and the BWM CG stripped and convexed .... I also have the BWM LE .... all 3 are excellent .... but the B11 is the best chopper of the three .... probably the best "bang for your buck Busse" ever made .... it's lighter to carry too ....

So if your BWM CG has just been "done up" by Ban then that is the one to move on IMO ....

Though I love the BWMs, esp the LE, I sold both but wont even consider selling my B11. Something about that knife just feels so right to me, and for the $, wow, what a bargain. I love the slender profile and its ability to bite deep. When Im swingin it around like a madman, I feel Ive found my center. Ive got enough (is there a such thing) micarta/G10 big busses, so its refreshing to have something not so pertty and expensive, but sooo very capable.

If you are looking for the best big knife as an all arounder, get a BWM (LE, CF or CG). If you are planning to do a lot of chopping get the B11.

When I hike, camp or spend any real amount of time outdoors, I always take a BWM. It's ideal size and weight make short work of many camp chores besides chopping wood, and the more neutral balance allows for better dexterity while performing said chores.
