You know the design is epic when there is such passionate disagreement on both sides of the spectrum.

One thing I can say in regard to that is that the designer Massad Ayoob has had an impeccable reputation as a self defense expert for many years. As far as I know up till now he has had only two knife designs that were done by commercial knife companies. One being the C-60 that Spyderco initially released in 2002 which is the one we are discussing and the other was a fixed blade known as the "Razorback" which was done by a company known as MOD ( Masters of Defense). You know the design is epic when there is such passionate disagreement on both sides of the spectrum.
What about the cruwear delica?Over at Spyderco.com Forum there was a picture of the plain edged version recently posted. I was surprised to see that the plain edged version has "Cruwear" blade steel from Crucible. I was kind of surprised to see that a Japan made unit had Cruwear blade steel. But it was a pleasant surprise to be sure.
Haven't heard of anything from the "Shot Show" or any other show for that matter as of yet. I've also heard that the front office of Spyderco also finally got a prototype. The C-60 Ayoob has been one of my personal favorites for quite a while now and I'm looking forward to this newest edition. Over at Spyderco.com Forum the response has been very positive up till now.
For real, you definitely make yourself distinct by writing like this, haha. I know a "GIRLYmann" post when I see one, but it doesn't sound like a poem to me, it sounds like the musings of an old cowboythe name is legandary.
the knife an aquired taste.
hoping perhaps
something could be done
to widen that appeal in future runs.
my humble suggestion is to
develop a 2-stage locking mechanism.
one that is able to
allow for full extended blade
(for utility)
besides the signature angled slant
for that pistol grip sd.
waddaya say spydie crew??!
Thank you for the heads up, JD. Wow it’s actually happening now.OK I just heard that the C-60 Ayoob Sprint Run is going to finally be available shortly in both PE & SE for $210. Not sure which dealers will have it available but I'm sure that we'll know that within a few days.
Both the SE & PE models are going to be available with a Cruwear blade which sort of surprises me. I thought for sure the SE version would have been done in VG-10 or one of the other more common blade steels.
But I'll keep you all posted as I get more information on it. So for all of you who are interested the ship is about to arrive.
Well Folks sorry I haven't been here in a while. But here in the past two weeks the Spyderco company are starting to trickle out a few of the new C-60 Ayoob Sprint Run with CRUWEAR blade steel to a select few of their better dealers as well as SFO. I was fortunate to land both the PE & SE and I'm proud to say that I love them even better than I thought I would. Now I'm faced with the task of landing an additional set of them. Because as cool as this new C-60 Sprint Run is I want two of them for back up units in my footlocker and two of them to have for my EDC rotation.
The SE unit has a much nicer serration pattern than the original model from the early 2000s had. Don't get me wrong the original was a mega-cutting beast in SE>> but this new CRUWEAR model in full SE is a completely new animal all together. The PE unit was also razor sharp and ready for duty right out of the factory. Well I hope quite a few of you guys have gotten your C-60 Sprint Run now that they are starting to finally show up. If any of you have landed any of them yet then please let's talk about it shall we???????
The pattern is better on the new model.Well now Im confused. Here you say the serrations are better than the original model from the 2000's.
On another thread your saying there are imperfections on the Serrated Edge and we cant expect perfection every time?
No confusion on this end. The serrated model I got does not have that flaw that some others have reported. And I also emphasized that the serration pattern is different than the serration pattern on any of the previous runs of the C-60 Ayoob model. I'm sorry to hear that others have had problems but the two units I got ( PE & SE) are both a work of art. Sal himself said that if there were any complaints just to simply send it back to Spyderco. No complaints here at all.Well Folks sorry I haven't been here in a while.
