C36TI - Ti Millie

Wonderful!!

Question? The pre-production knives that Sal sent out to a few folks a week or two ago looked to have a clip that was plain steel in appearance like my orange G-10 Millie. The New Product listing in the link shows what looks like a black clip?

The website doesn't say anything about this being a limited run. Does that mean the TI Military is a full production model?

The picture on the site says pre-production prototype. I'll bet the actual production pieces have silver clips.

I'd like the answer to that question as well.

It is limited production. Not a Sprint where they just make so many and stop, but where production continues as long is there is enough interest, just not as many pieces per month as regular production. I've been seeing 50 to 100 pieces per month for the rate of production.

I've been waiting for this for a long time, I'm sure others have as well. This might be "The One", pushing my S90V/CF out of my pocket.

That 48% increase in weight over the CF model doesn't win any points with me. My S90V's pocket space is still secure. :D

I'm just a sucker for Ti spydies, but your right, I have every variation of the millie so far and the s90v is the one I pick every time.

Damnit. For last month, I have been SURE my next knife was an Emerson HD-7. This is quite an achievement for me as I usually change my mind daily until I actually order a new knife, but this time I was sure. Now this happens I have no idea which to buy. Then again, this is a spydie. Maybe I should give up one of my pre ordered M4 RIL's and pick up one of these. Decisions decisions....

Perhaps I am the only one?

This great looking knife will cost a bit more than the G-10 model (about 30% more if you compare the MSRP of $220 for G-10 to the $350 for the TiRIL), and it weighs over 1/3 pound!

I guess I am missing out on something. What problem is this variant this supposed to fix?

I am sorry if this comes off as negative. I just think that even as a fan of the Military model, I am far more excited by the Bradley (multiple clip position, CPM M4).

Not sure it's intended to "fix" anything. It's simply an advancement of the design using different lock and different materials. Yes it weighs 5.9oz. The G-10 Milllie weighs 4.2oz. Neither seems like a significant weight to me. As far as price goes all Spydercos are priced differently according to materials and designs so why not this one?

Some folks like variety. some don't. It's nice that Syderco can accomodate both.

You're comparing MSRP on one knife to street price on the other. This one will have a street price in the $180-190 range. Roger's site says MSRP on the G10/M4 version is $299 with estimated actual price around $200.
