CA Bush Bash III Above Visalia: 4/30-5/2/10

Hey SconeMeister! At some point in the next month we need to tap your local knowledge for some advice on where to hike without driving too far.

Thanks,

DancesWithKnives

The only thing I can think of that is really close is to drive up the dirt road to the Redwood Mountain grove to walk among some nice sequoias.

That sounds pretty pleasant. How long do you figure it would take to drive there?

Thanks,

Hey if its a 2-3 miles we can walk over there. Hey we all love the outdoors. Im talking to Mike already. Might have my CZ all set up and ready to shoot flys in mid air . Mike i might bring my nephew as well. If mountain mike shows up there would be enough wild life out there to keep all busy.. heck maybe i should bring my nieces as well, maybe not.

I haven't ever made the drive from there to the Redwood Mountain grove, but it should only take 10-15 minutes. You can walk it if you want, but just getting there would take care of any hiking urges. It is probably about five miles and 2000' elevation gain to get there.

Of all the pictures I have on photobucket, I only have two from the Redwood Mountain grove:

John: Thanks----that sounds like the ticket!

I'm going to be away from the 'puter in Nevada for about a week but I'll check back when I return and see who's up for a hike.
