I'm considering purchasing the Cabela's 110 before a custom just to save a bit of cash and because I know I'll probably get both sooner or later. Anyways..I was checking out a video on youtube where a guy had some problems with blade play on his Cabela's version right out of the box. Anybody else had any such issues with their cabelas 110?

No issues with mine,I have used it hard the last 5 years,no blade pay,no wobbles anywhere, and it looks like its never been sharpened,oh wait, thats because all its ever needed is a touch up here and there.

Go for it,you'll be impressed with it.

No problem here mate . I've used it on a lot of cutting jobs and it still locks up like a bank vault . I've used mine enough to require sharpening which took some time . DM

Hi Tracks,

Like RB above, I have been using my AG 110 for about 6 years. It has been my main belt EDC and has field dressed many, many Deer. It is razor sharp and has no issues at all.

I also have a cabella's with rosewood, that I asked for Christmas before last. No problem what so ever. I read feedbacks before I asked for since I was really wanting the stag handle. I read one feedback that said they had a stag with blade play, and I let that feedback talk me out of ordering the stag. I've been kicking my self ever since. So don't let 1 or 2 people talk you out of what you want. This is just MHO.

Just to let you know I recently got the rosewood one and it's perfect in every way.The finish on it is outstanding.

I have a couple Sambar stag AG 110s and both have no such blade play problems. One did have an exposed blade tip when closed, but the warranty department fixed that and it's now one of my favorite knives.

The AG 110s are great if you are an a budget. They are just a good a knife functionally as a custom and some are very beautiful, but be aware that the specific selection of stag on the custom is likely to be nicer. I think there is a bit more individual attention given to the customs. At least this rings true from my experience.

I imagine if you got an AG 110 with a blade play problem the warranty department would honor it and make good on it. I wouldn't let that prevent me from owning a fine knife.

Another plus for the Cabelas AG 110s is that Buck will sharpen them for free. You just pay the postage to Buck.

The AG 110 is a fine knife by anyones definition. You get Bos treated S30V in a solid and good looking package that will last a lifetime. Mine came in perfect condition and is one of the best values for the dollar, considering all you get. Buy with confidence.

Great knife......don't hesitate--it might be gone like so many other great ones.

;)

Has anyone else noticed that the AG110 Rose wood is now 79.99? When did it go up in price? HL

I predict more price increases coming soon.

Buy now, before inflation hits.......and remember, some models like the Kalinga have been dropped and more of that may happen.

He who hesitates is lost.

Well thanks a lot fellas. Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on one. Man I wish I had known about the AG models and been more into buck when the stag was available!

Really?? Is that exclusive to this model?? (bout the sharpening)

Yes it is exclusive to Buck's Alaskan Guide series. You pay nothing to Buck, just mail it in. ItsTooEarly is referring to the other Buck knives where you pay Buck $6.95, plus shipping it to Buck.

Tracks, when I called to order my Rosewood they said it was on sale.I got it for less than $79.99,I think it was $10 off. I liked it so much,I called a Cabelas in Maine and the man that took the call found an Ironwood one for me in another state.I just got it today.he said it was the only one left.Chuck Buck scribed his name on the blade of this one and below that scribed 009.He also signed the paper that came with it and wrote 2009.If all that wasn't pure luck or something, they also sold it to me for $25 off because it was last years model! I'm nursing a wound, can't work and that made my day!
