Sorry WD,
You are thinking of the Cabela's Pro-Line series Buck knives. That offer is not for the AG series Buck knives. Buck would be happy to clean and sharpen the AG knives for a small fee.

Hmmm, I knew that was the deal with the Proline series, but I'd never heard or read that about the AG's. Where did you find that info? I can't find anything about lifetime free sharpening for the Alaskan Guide series on Cabela's website.![]()
Wow, you got me there! I should read all the paper work that comes with the knives because that sure got by me.
I wonder why that isn't mentioned in the description at Cabela's? Seems like they made a big deal out of it with the Prolines and it was a good selling point. They keep it a pretty good secret.
I do my own sharpening

Yep,gotta read em quick before that darn squirrel chews em up.Hmmm...ya learn something every day. I guess that I really should read those bits of paper.![]()
Dog Gone, they never put an edge on the blade at all?Is it flat on the bottom?Wow,that's really MINT!I have one of the AG Vangaurds, it just never has been sharpened. What I mean is that the coating is still in place where the edge is suppose to be, and yes I plan to keep it that way. If I want to use one I will buy one that has the edge on it from Cabela's. I own three different AG's at this time. The 110 rosewood, the Vangaurd, and the folding Alpha Hunter with gut hook. HL
