Hi all, well it looks like there back... Cabela's Alaskan Guide Stag 110s with S30V... :thumbup: ... Is that the same steel as before??? Only 500 of them...
Save one for me... Please... :eek: :yawn: :)

Alaskan Guide Stag Knife is protected in a distressed leather sheath, and each comes with a certificate of authenticity. Production limited to 500. The 110 S30V Stag Folder is our original lock-back knife with 3-3/4" clip-point blade.

Actually, there is one in stock as of 10 AM 9/22/09 - likely a return. It will not be replaced - they are gone. None of the $20 off coupons would work, anyway - they all went out by 1/12/09. be still my heart!

I decided to order one and opted for store pick up to avoid the $17 shipping those yahooos want to charge me on top of sales tax. I've been wanting to make another trip down anyway. Now the advantage to store pickup is if the Stag is bad I can return it on the spot.

Anyway, it seems they're available at this time. Hope I didn't get the last one Stainz was talking about but I think I'll be OK.
 
The lady told me that there was only one in stock - and that there would be no more. I said that they had been out for some time - she agreed - and she offered that it was likely a return. Of course, it still has a full warranty. My heart sank... I got a BCCI 110 and an 850 that were both defective last fall - that was enough for me. Best of luck on your purchase. I snoozed and lost!

Nice knife! I love my 'measly' wood handled AG110... may be time to order a bare-bones NS/wood S30V 110 from the Custom Shoppe...

Hi ITE, Stainz, & All,

If you read the info at the bottom of Armand's post, it said only "500" would be issued. In our BCCI news letter Joe list's the special order knives issued each year. I went back through the old letters until I found the AG stag in his list. it showed that the first issue was 120 knives out of the 500 knife order. We have not yet got the news letter for special order knives made last year. But, I would suspect that Cableas has received another shipment from the 500 knives of this LE. This was confirmed for me as now the knife is back in stock on their catalog web site.

If they only had one knife stainz they would sell it in their bargain cave and not re-list it in their catalog IMHO.

Thanks JB, that's what it said on there catalog web site 500 of them... That could mean only 120 more or ??? .... :confused: .... But I'm sure it's more then one.... Well I hope so... :)

Oddly, the stag AG110 has once again evaporated from Cabela's site. I am sorry, would it weren't so, but alas, they are gone. My info came from a call to Cabela's, not a mass-printing catalog from months ago - or an old website description. You can get the Custom Shoppe to make you one - with proper looking nickel silver bolsters, S30V, and Sambar Stag for $222.50 - or Elk horn for $161. Make it Asian waterbuffalo for $115.50. I may just have to call old Pete Monday...

Stainz, your right it's gone again... I just got the e-mail from them 4 days ago showing they had some more... I don't have a catalog or old website description... Well 4 day is old I guess... LOL... I hope they get more... :)

I went checked the status of my order and it showed that the knife shipped yesterday. Apparently, they didn't have very many to sell on this most recent shipment. I'm glad I got an order in this time.
 
Looking over the SP list I see that BP often has an odd number of knife totals for their SP/LE issues. Remember that Buck sets a minimum amount of knives that a customer has to place to start a special order knife.

It looks like BP's contract may allow them to say place a minimum order for 500 stag handle knives. But, take it in smaller quantities...first order from the 500, is to give their stores say 120 knives for shelf stock and catalog inventory. If it sells well, they put in another small order and continue until the 500 knife order is completed. However, if the SP knife is not moving (selling) like the marketing guys want...well I think they may stop the remainder of the order.

If Cablea's discontinues the AG Stag that is a shame. With that knife at $159 it was simply a steal. The cost of sambar stag from the custom shop last year was $144 just for the scales. You do the math.

I pulled my copy, you know the one they always tell you to "print and save for your records." Total Cost for In-Store pickup is $162.74.

I hope the stag is as good as the stag on JBs AG110s. But I agree 100% with the statement above....simply a steal.
 
Can't find the pic of John's, but here is mine (bottom knife).

I am VERY happy with my 110AG Stag. Have had it for a few years and am very happy with the scales and every aspect of the knife.

Just for comparison, here's some photos of another one. Notice how thick this stag is. It really feels good in the hand. :thumbup:


 
I got notification today that the knife is at the Cabela's here in Maine. I think its time for a little drive over.

Notice the number of knives they had at the time I placed my order. That's probably just remaining inventory. Cabelas did take the link down again after about 4 days from my order. Maybe they'll order some more.

every time i see that photo i jest melt for the top 3 !!! ..
rather see this then the play boy center fold!
