Cali knife owners

I probably won't be buying customs for a while. I'm always confused as to what I want to get in the future. I always will be in the market for balisongs, but I'm always looking at knives I really shouldn't be buying...like a DA Socom or something. I just want it for fun, lol

Hopefully I can just settle with some more EDCers and a couple knives from each category (ie fixed, tacticool, autos) Although I do constantly look for Microtechs...planning to get a Scarab and carbon fiber handled ultratech from a store I've been contacting.

If you're carrying a 5" blade in your pocket aren't you risking a concealed weapon charge? What would you say that's for if a cop asks you? If you tell a cop you're carrying a knife in LA for self defense, see what happens. If they see you carrying a huge blade in your pocket IMO they're more likely to charge you with a concealed weapon charge.

I noticed it said "on his person, in plain view" in the penal code. Can that be interpretted as having it on your person is a violation as well as in plain view?

well, depending which way the wind is blowing, you could get a concealed weapons charge for having a sharpened pencil in your pocket...

Your best bet is to NOT chat with a cop if he's fishing for a reason to bust you for having a knife.

The fifth amendment is absolutely your best friend, and ignorance of this is why so many gang bangers get busted. They start giving cops excuses about weapons/drugs/paraphernalia instead of giving them a number for a lawyer.

So, there's technically no law that you'd be violating (I'm not a lawyer, look up the laws yourself) but if you're getting stopped and searched by a cop, you've probably already messed up, and you just need to keep quiet.

If you hadn't done anything wrong, then you should have refused a search anyways.
