California Cuastom Knife Show this weekend....Starting a new look for our Knives!

Sorry Rob, but not diggin' the etchings
the clean blade from before where way nicer estaticly speaking.

spyderco get's away with it because it fits the brand,
but i don't know that XM's need it IMO

like i'm fond of saying, less is more :)

Nice Offering.
Very Professional as would be expected.
I think after those viewing take it all in, in light of "ALL aspects" in play and let the "Change" digest it will be received very well.
One thing we can all count on is change and I see the time was right and the execution was exceedingly "Well Done"
Be Safe, Enjoy Cali. See you in JC.

I can't wait until Saturday!! I'll be driving up from San Diego and look forward to hopefully owning my first Hinderer. Can anyone give me an idea on what my chances are of walking away with a 3" production? How many tickets are handed out versus how many are available?

hmmm, does this mean we'll be able to send ours in, or will this only be applied to the new ones? Proxy for the lottery or some accessories!? gundude, zippthisknifethat, 5.56, anyone else i met last year :p

What the crap people! I LOVE the new logo... Naked, logos... it's still a Hinderer folks. But IMO the logo freaking rocks. Keep up the good work Hinderer crew!

I hear ya! Loud n clear.

No matter what markings are on them, they are still Hinderers.

LOVE IT...Nice touch......

As long as it won't wear of from cutting a lot of cardboard & stuff it's a cool option. I do prefer no logo or a logo on the handle only.

Bravo, I support the return of Rick's name to the blade! I always think a custom knifemaker should actually but their name on the knife. After all, they are known primarily as knifemakers, not handlemakers :-)

One aspect of the XM which appealed to me was the simplicity of the design, some of the best industrial designs tend to have a fantastic clean and simple aesthetic.

The minimalistic and clean HINDERER cut into the arch of the top frame is classic, matching the frame finish just tops it off.

The clean blade has an even balance rendered by the amazing finishes to what I consider nirvana in folder blades.

I'm not a fan of the new additions, it just does not need it in my opinion, will it prevent me from purchasing a Hinderer? - hell no but if the choice was there, I'd go no-logo every time.

I'd prefer it more subtle, the horse logo etched to the inside of the frame on the scale liner and the blade steel and USA lasered around onto the blade tang so it is covered by the frame but there to see when cleaning / servicing.

Just my 2 cents NZ (about 1.64 cent in US mula)

Edited to add.

The XM is an icon in folder design, it does not need a label.

+1 Well said, the XM doesn't need any markings, it is an icon in the knife world, like Novaargh said less is more, especially on works of art IMO.

I also prefer the clean look, a Sebenza just to name one iconic knife doesn't need any steel markings or branding and country of manufacture on the blade, I can also imagine a lot of people still prefer the ones without the Idaho made on the frame.

Anyway its up to Rick he is a great knifemaker and a real artist, I have seen a few of his art knives and they are just out of this world, I think adding laser etching is going from one extreme to the other.

Maybe they should do a cross forum poll or a poll on their website and see what most of the customers prefer.

My 1,53 Euro Cent :)

I generally am not a fan of what all would call "advertising" on knives, I don't like the blade steels, USA mades, etc... but I am a fan of the logo etched onto the knives and a bigger fan of his name being etched. I really like the look of the prior generation blades with the R. Hinderer on the blade.

My only complain is that if you are going to put the name or logo on the blade, remove it from the handle.

Rick puts all the work into these, he sure as heck deserves to put his name on the knife.
