California Fires

A couple or few of our CPK brethren live in the Los Angeles area. I know that Phil does Comprehensivist Comprehensivist and also luethge luethge lives in LA, maybe I am forgetting someone else? Those fires are in the Pacific Palisades (very upscale and posh / wealthy area) near Malibu and very close to the Pacific, then in Pasadena and now onto Hollywood Hills (where that iconic Hollywood sign is)... Two of my kids live in the Valley area and the air quality is terrible, Daughter made her way down to San Diego but the Son stayed there (no mandatory evac for them)

OT: both Los Angeles NFL teams have also been impacted! I think that the Rams will now host the Vikes in Glendale, AZ home of the Cardinals as SoFi Stadium in Inglewood is going to be scratched off even though it's a MNF playoff. My Chargers are playing away at the Texans but will have to make a move for the remaining days of practice due to poor and unhealthy air quality affecting the immediate 10-15 miles air radius!

So far so good at home base in Simi Valley. Our area is in one of the wind tunnel valleys where things can change quickly.

Ironically I am out of town with a team in Florida this week doing relief work for people who suffered loss or damage to their home in Hurricane Helene. We all need to help others when life changing events happen.

Made contact with Kyle today, he's saying they are still ok. Bags packed. He appreciates the well wishes and concerns.

I told him everyone is sending prayers, well wishes and all the positive vibes.

*I can't imagine going through all that, I hope it ends very soon and calms down!
 
The winds are unreal. I don't think many folks realize how insane those winds are and how impactful they are to fires. My thoughts are with our brothers and sisters to the south and I hope that this gets under control quickly so the rehabilitation can begin.

Hats off to the folks here for keeping it classy, CPK folks are the very best. Discourse in some other circles has frankly been rather disgusting.
