You might consider filing some sort of claim as it sounds like a fraudulent transaction conducted via the US postal system; he got your knife via the US mail. Of course there is that pesky "sending auto knives via US mail" issue to potentially contend with. Esav?

Hang on to your receipts and any other info if you are going to.

all da best,
rats...

Wow, potentially destroy your reputation by not returning or paying for a Benchmade????

It is only a deal when both parties are happy....................................

MAILING an auto knife across state lines? Not a good idea AFAIK...

I made a trade with a member here and I got his trade in 2 days. Mine never showed up at his address. I stayed in contact with him and asked to hold his knife for the 21 days, until I could file a claim on mine. He agreed to this, so we could be sure mine wasn't going to arrive after I'd returned his. After the 21 days was up I sent his back (insured, my cost) and filed a claim and was eventually paid for the one I'd sent that was lost.
If anyone will not keep their receipts and be willing to do this the way I handled it on a trade, I would suspect that they'd never sent anything at all. (I even took a picture of my insurance ticket right away and pm-ed it to him. So he'd be at ease I wasn't trying to scam him)
