So get this last night we made a deal and agreed to ship the knives out today and he was fine with that. I told him i would ship the knife first thing in the morning on my way to work and he said he would do the same. So i keep my side of the agreement and ship the knife only to return home to an email saying the trade is off and the lame excuse i got was he can't find the knife when it was up for trade the night before. I am so flipping upset, Right before thanksgiving i get shafted.

That sucks big time! Send him a link to this thread so he can come here and explain himself...

Not only should he ship your knife back immediately after he receives it but if he is a standup guy he should also reimburse you for the cost of your postage since it was he who changed his mind and didn't notify you in time.

If he does that then I personally would leave him a NEUTRAL rating since it would show he is at least honest enough to make you whole financially and all you would be out would be time but no money. That's just me though.
 
hillbillie, how did you ship? It might be in your best interest to try ASAP to have the package redirected back to you if possible.
 
If he gets it right back to you, it's just a mistake which people do make sometimes.
I hope he does show up here to explain and the knife shows up back home soon!
 
I think i worded that title too strong but i was so upset at that time. I am not out to leave anyone negative feedback,heck i can't even figure out how to do that. I think i may have scared him because i have no feedback. I hope he does return the knife or better completes the trade. I did try to redirect but to no luck.
 
How'd you ship it? Can you contact the revieving Post Office and ask for them to return it to you?

People need to make sure they are okay with going into a deal before they scream I'll take it. If you both made an agreement on a time line to ship than he is at fault for not honoring his end of the agreement and should send you the knife back and cover all the expenses associated with the return. He should also refund you the money that you had to spend to ship to him since he is not holding up to the original deal.

If he does not do all of those things than I think at best his name should be brought into the thread so others are aware. Good luck with this and Happy Thanksgiving.
 
At the very least you can go to the post office and fill out a "recall mail" form and then the po will search for your package and get it back to you
 
Here is my explanation, I've been having some troubles at home and I wasn't thinking about the deal. My uncle is recovering from cancer, and is eating through a tube. And I was helping my mom prepare yesterday. Not to mention I couldn't find the knife. I know it wasn't the right thing to do but my head was focused on Thanksgiving. I actually asked hillbillie hippy if we could postpone the deal for a couple of days until thanksgiving was over yesterday morning, but by that time it was probably too late. So that's my end of the story, I apologize to hillbillie hippy this time it was my bad.
 
You had a knife to trade but you couldn't find it??? You're kidding, right????

It seems to me your head was focused on being on the internet and making a knife trade and your troubles at home, your uncle, your mother, and Thanksgiving have nothing to do with it.

He has troubles at home and wasn't thinking about the deal, but yet he can post a trade ad just barely?

I am making this trade right by honoring my end of the deal( I even through in another knife). And I've been meaning to re-post the ad, was going to do it two days ago but like I said I was busy. As soon as the post office is open I am sending this out, Oh by the way does anyone know if the post office is open on black Friday?
